Accommodation is permanent tents in well maintained garden . Hardly fair to describe as tents . Full bathroom and veranda even flat screen television on the wall. Very good restaurant and helpful staff. There is free WiFi in the lounge area adjacent to the restaurant . Fantastic position close to the bridge and across from the river .10 mins walk... More

Easily this property has got to be the most well kept places by the Govt of MP. The staff also told me that the CM of the state prefers to stay here on his visits to Orchha. Its not hard to see why! I choose to stay at Betwa Retreat after reading through the rather not so good reviews of... More

Orchha is one of India's hidden treasures and a welcome break from the more hectic towns like Khajuraho, nearby. The hotel sits alongside the river and is a wonderfully peaceful place. Our room was a little chalet with a rocking chair on the tiny patio overlooking the herb/veg garden - delightful. Good restaurant with a large evening buffet. Easy walking... More

Betwa Retreat offers tents and cottages set in a beautiful garden in the centre of Orchha. We stayed 5 nights in a cottage, which was clean, a good size with a large comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom. The gardens are lovely full of flowers, birds and butterflies. The staff were very attentive, organised a trip to Datia, which... More

This is perhaps the best government-run property that I have come across in India. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, the staff is courteous, and the food is nice (though we think that the breakfast buffet could have been much better -- we found it to be minimal, and the staff inattentive). The river flows on the other side of... More

The retreat is well located at less than a 5 minute walk to heart of Orccha and is right next to some of the historical sites. The onsite restaurant provides decent basic food, really the only minus is that the kitchen doesn't provide full meal services outside of standard dining hours but still does provide snacks. I stayed 3 nights... More

The Betwa Retreat is well laid out and maintained externally. Being a government run establishment, the rooms could be better equipped and maintained. The bathroom design is a nightmare for the morning call. The beds are very uncomfortable with foam mattresses. For the price they charge, one could get a much more luxurious place to stay. Value for money missing.... More
