While we have no hesitation giving this 5 stars there are some things to note. PROS We had the Star Cottage on the river.....amazing! Saw the otters, just once, in this unique ( for India ) otter sactuary. The staff were amazing and took us for walks to the sunset viewpoint across (and IN) the boulders and to the waterfall.....take... More

A welcome place to relax after the tourist clatter of wonderful Hampi. Accommodation is in cottages spread out over the large, forested site. Very peaceful, with the sound of birds and animals ever present; we even saw a 3 meter crocodile sunning itself on the other side of the river. The food is buffet style, plentiful and a mix of... After the hussle and bussle of Hampi, it is an ideal oasis to chill out. If you expect nightlife, then this is not the place for you. We stayed in 2 different cottages and they were charming and cleanish. The staff try hard and are very nice, but are not well trained. We do recommend a couple of days here... More

We spent 3 nights in the star cottage which was much better than I expected given that other Tripadvisor reviews commented that this resort is "rustic" and "overpriced". It looks like a small castle and is perched overlooking the river. This resort is in the middle of nowhere and we could not see any sign of human habitation from our... More

Absolutely amaxing resort, unspoilt and hidden from the chaos of modern life. Comfortable rooms. Excellent food. Mr Kumar deserves special mention as he catered to our needs. All the staff ( drivers, waiters, porters) went duties with a smile and were ever helpful. We loved the little pool which was exceptionally clean. Nature walk was absolutely amazing and we were... We really enjoyed the peacefulness of this place. It is very beautiful and there are all sorts of animals and birds to see in the forest and the river. The staff were wonderful and made me feel like aristocracy. The rooms were amazing. I think it was the highlight of our trip to Hampi, for me! The food was mostly... More

Wow what a beautiful place this is. The accommodation and actual situation on the Tungabhadra river is exceptional. We stayed in Crocodile cottage and it was very new, but very well decorated and appointed, with a wonderful view of the river. We spent three nights here and always felt that communication was not at the level of the property. To... More

We had a wonderful stay at Boulders. Room was simple but smart and comfortable. Really enjoyed the peace and seclusion. The staff took us on a couple of stunning walks along the river, boulders, organic farm and paddy fields. The hotel is about 20 mins from the ferry crossing to Hampi and the drivers were very accommodating about picking and... More

The setting is idyllic, the staff is super-friendly and helpful (they even did our one week laundry as a complimentary service!!!), the food (breakfast and dinner) is awesome. You feel like you are in the wild. But the best was the morning drive from the hotel to the ferry. For half an hour we could see rural India as its... More

Where do I start? This is a fairy tale, a dream, an exhilarating special hidden sanctuary. Where else can you have your own secluded little "castle" perched upon majestic boulders, suspended above the meandering river, with miles upon miles of panoramic beautiful scenery? As I descended to the river edge, otters looked at me with curiosity. Back on my balcony,... More
