The accommodation was threadbare and not very clean, like all over India in general and no toilett paper, no soap. The owner lives with his more generation family in the house. Only he is a competent decision-maker in the family, so any administration topic you have to wait until he gets back, sometimes that's a whole day.... :) Otherwise, he... More

Simple room with basic facilities. Vickey is a very good person. stayed from 17 Nov 2013 to 19 Nov 2013. Stayed in the room at first floor. Free Wi-Fi internet available. There is Problem with hot water in our bath room but vickey was able to provide hotwater with bucket when requested. Overall its a good experience.

Hampi is a back-packers paradise, and the luxurious rooms are also priced the same. Vicky is on the holy side (no meat, no alcohol), so expect bare-necessities, and nice, warm ambiance. Our room (1st floor) was just adequate. Running (hot sometimes) water was refreshing, sheets clean, though the room was slightly moldy (Monsoon?). Vicky is a nice person to speak... More

We stayed two nights at Vicky's this August and everything was fine. We have wifi in our rooms, this was so great. Rooms are clean (as indian standars) and had their own mosquito nets (but we use ours). The bathrooms are basic but with hot water. We have a beautiful view to the Temple, but the roof was closed in... More

There is little difference between the guesthouses in Hampi. We moved here from a night in another place because we found we were paying 50% more than we should have been due to commission paid to the auto-rickshaw driver who took us there. We actually checked a room at Vicky's after settling in to the first place and quite liked... More

There are very positive and quite poor sides to Vicky's Place. Firstly, whatever price you agreed when booking will probably not be the price you are charged. On our arrival we were told the fee will be more than agreed when booking. We were not the only guests to be told of this. Apparently, quite a number of guests have... More

Arriving early from the nightbus we turned up not having booked and were able to have a room straightaway. Vicky was very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. The terrace was a great place to relax after a day out at the temples with our brilliant tuk tuk driver Mr Paul (ask Vicky for him).... More

We stayed at Vicky's for 4 or 5 nights. Room was ok, bathroom almost ok. Mosquito net was so dirty we replaced it with the one we had with us. Nice rooftop place. Vicky had been very kind with us until he discovered we booked our journey onward via another travel agency that found us train tickets, when he had... More

Vicky's was not my first choice but the preffered places were booked out I ended up at Vickys. The family who run the place are nice enough and the room are pretty standard for budget India. The bed was pretty hard and not very comfortable. If you were going to stay there avoid the room off the families lounge room... More

For me it's the best budget place in Hampi. I like this place very much because on one hand it's like a family stay, on the other you have all the hotel ammenities (internet, phone at the reception and a restaurant on the rooftop). The hotel is charming with it's bright paintings, and has an almost perfect location. The rooms... More
