I stayed at The Norling Guesthouse for 3 nights from 6-9th May 2015. While selecting the hotel I told my travel agent that I wanted a hotel which was away from the madness of tourists traveling with alcohol and creating a ruckus and thankfully Norling was a peaceful getaway. This is a part of Norbulingka institute hence you have to... More

My sister and I stayed at the Norling for 2 nights recently.- a gift from our younger sister. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast, which we found quite acceptable. We were able to walk over the fields to the Nunnery where our sister was staying.,which was nice. The rooms were comfortable with nice furnishings, and the staff were very pleasant. I... More

Having stayed at the sister property the night before I was looking forward to my stay but overall was disappointed. The facilities were good, just a little tired but I was surprised that the reception staff lacked even basic local knowledge to answer my tourist queries. For me there were two major issues. The first was the restaurant which has... More

Norbulika Institute is beautiful, quiet and green, a great place to unwind. The staff is polite and helpful. The place is away from the crowds, around 5-7 km from the closest town Dharamshala. On our walks we hardly saw tourists, mostly local villagers and monks. The surroundings offer fantastic nature treks and cute cafes. We had a great stay here!

After spending the last month traveling city to city through northern India, the peace and tranquility was very much needed, the silence was amazing. The room was big and clean, the staff were friendly. The cafe on the Norbulingka site was ok, nice soup and good momo's, the service could do with some more thought though. We booked two tours... We weren't supposed to be staying at Norling but on a visit to the Norbulingka institute we thought it was so beautiful and peaceful that we just had to stay. The grounds of the institute are stunning, the staff are friendly, it's quiet and just feels so peaceful. The rooms are beautiful and full of hand crafted incense burners etc... More

The institute itself is a treat to the eyes, it is so pleasantly architectured and decorated. The rooms per se are spacious and with attached bathrooms. Each room has a theme and a name that is associated with it. The theme decides the decor of the room and attention to detail is excellent. In-house restaurant is also fairly nice. All... More

This place was quite unique..loved everything about it. A little oasis in the center of town. Very nice breakfast, and the art, etc, was lovely. It is an art institute..lovely gift store, painting everywhere..
