The institute itself is a treat to the eyes, it is so pleasantly architectured and decorated. The rooms per se are spacious and with attached bathrooms. Each room has a theme and a name that is associated with it. The theme decides the decor of the room and attention to detail is excellent. In-house restaurant is also fairly nice. All... More

This place was quite unique..loved everything about it. A little oasis in the center of town. Very nice breakfast, and the art, etc, was lovely. It is an art institute..lovely gift store, painting everywhere..

Must stay atleast for a night. This place deserves that. It's atmosphere is addictive too.Spoiler alert:Veg food. Chinese, italian. But very good taste. It was very cold when we went their. The staff was very kind enough to get the food to the room without requesting and free of charge. The norbulingka campus is a beautiful world in itself.

I spent a week here in early December. Our trip was organised by Imagine India. My husband got very ill before we arrived here and went to hospital and our trip was extended. The staff and travel agent couldn't have been more helpful. I was looked after so well. The guest house is beautiful with tibetan hand painted decorations and... More

We stayed at this guest house in mid-December, 2014. Although this guest house is found in a magical location, and is absolutely magnificent, run by incredible hospitable friendly people, the actual rooms tended to be somewhat problematic on two fronts. First, the air condoning/heater is very noisy, as they continually stop and start. Additionally, if one chooses to sleep without... More

We stayed at the tranquil Norling Guesthouse in November. If we didn't know any better it felt seem like we had left India and touched down in a mystical Shangri-La. The grounds were covered with beautiful trees, shrubs and flowering plants. Their are water gardens that flow all throughout and large ponds with brightly colored fish. A beautiful temple with... I stayed at the Norbulinka Institute in late October 2014. The guest accommodation was stunningly beautiful and very comfortable. I had a spacious double room with dressing area and a balcony. It had paintings, furniture, rugs and lamps that are made in the Tibetan workshops of the institute and can be bought there. One has to eat in the Humming... More

Norling is a wonderful, very well run place located in a beautiful garden of Norbulingka Institute of Tibetan Arts. Very quiet and peaceful place, ideal for exhausted travelers. The staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are not only neat and clean, but decorated artistically in different styles. The food at "Hummingbird" cafe is tasty authentic Tibetan, but Indian and European... More

Charm is the best word to describe both the guesthouse and the staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a small balcony which we could sit on. The location of the guesthouse is some distance away from Macleod Ganj and Dharmsala itself but for us that was a positive as we wanted to relax.

If you really like to get a slightly different hotel with Tibetan touch then this place should be explored. This guest house is inside Norbulingka Institute, 5 km away from main Dharamshala and managed by small group of Tibetan people. Rooms are VERY beautiful each having different theme - big paintings, wardrobe, lamps etc. People are loving and helpful. However,... More
