We had decided on ‘Eagle’s Nest’ in upper Dharamkot, Mcleodganj, Dharamshala as our short family holiday trip in October of this year. Our minds conjured up a retreat hidden away a top a hill, surrounded by coniferous trees, looming snow covered mountains and perhaps shrouded by mist. Almost as if it was hanging in mid-air. We arrived in the afternoon... More

Paradise on top of a Hill. Takes some effort to get there but the result is more that worth it. It was paradise in more ways than one The place is beautiful. Enough space for all the guests. Awesome service and very helpful staff Vicky is a great cook - we kept requesting for continental food. Claudia (the manager) is... More

We were 2 families with adult children traveling in July 1st week. The property has 7 rooms and is an old British home run by a British origin couple. To approach this place, it is approx 3 km steep uphill winding road from Mcleodganj. Thereafter, one needs to hike about 15-20 mins to reach this delightful place. The owners, bob... More

We recommend this idyllic retreat very highly. We stumbled on it when we were hiking up to the ridge above McLeodganj two years ago and this trip, we were lucky enough to stay there. The property is very large by any standards, with a main lodge, and a meditation, retreat building. They are appointed with the most extraordinary attention to... More

Eagles Nest is a sanctuary nestled high in the forest above McLeodganj. The building is architecturally stunning with great attention to detail. It's away from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough to tour all the sites. Bo and Sheila are amazing hosts, and have an excellent team at your beck and call. The chef prepares DELICIOUS meals and snacks.... More

Was traveling in the area for business in Summer of 2013 and was hoping to have a relaxing stay in the mountains with my wife. Fled McLeod Ganj after one loud and uncomfortable night. So happy to have found this place. Was great to get away from all the noise and bustle and enjoy the majesty of this part of... More

This B&B (only six rooms with owners on site) has great views (from the two rooms out the back at least), tasty food, and - the rarest of treats in India - the opportunity of not waking up to the noise of barking dogs, as you're high in the mountains well away from everything. But the price is taking the... More

I don't even know where to start with this review. After reflecting upon my travels in India, this is my favorite memory of the country. I will never forget the experience. This was a great place to adjust to the altitude. My SO and I crashed the 3rd day we were there. There is no better place to crash in... More

Perched high on Dharamkot hills and surrounded by the mighty Himalayas, Eagles Nest is one destination worth braving the rough terrain and the non motorable road. Porters await at the Gallus temple to assist you to the Nest. It is advisable to request for either Deodar room, or better still pick the beautiful Dhauladhar room which is spacious and artistically... More
