During my visit in HP. Dharamsala is less crowded and clean place Comparing to shimla and manali . hotel is very near to main street and very easy accessible. Old building, hotel it self called heritage hotel, but very clean and well maintained. Staffs are very friendly and cooperative.

This hotel is in dharamsala. Always stay in Mcleodganj. Nothing great about this hotel. Food is average. only it is on main road and parking facility is there. Mcleodganj will be your choice to stay not dharamsala.

Dharamsala and Mcleodganj - No clue why have people kept this place of interest. Dry, boring, bad and pathetic roads, confusing signs at every important junction. Average place to stay. Rooms are very ill maintained. Fortunately every single staff are very helpful, kind & cooperative. We had taken both the tower rooms #210 and #211. So we had a private... More

The irony with all government run hotels is that although they have the best location, rooms etc they are not run professionally and hence end up been at best mediocre. Imagine travelling all the way to Dharamsala for peace just to find to your shock that the hotel has a wedding in its lawn with the dj blaring music at... More

Overall experience of staying in this hotel during our trip to Dharamshala during 2nd-6th June'2012 was good. The staff were particularly very helpful & cooperative. The location of this hotel makes it a pleasant place to stay. Though during check out faced a problem as the Manager declined to accept credit card and we were told that the card swipe... More

This hotel is a heritage building means a 150 years old building where govt cannot make any modifications which makes it horrible. Their location is good - not in from the market and not very far also. Their hotel was little isolated which would make it a pleasant place in Feb/Oct timeframe. But in summer, even weather was also not... More

Pros: 1. Nice and big rooms 2. Decent staff Cons: 1. Far way from Mcleodganj. It is a 4 km very steep walk upto Mcleodganj. You need to be in very good shape to be able to do it on foot. The taxi rate is Rs 180 one way 2. The room rent would have been reasonable for any other... More

Stay experience was like staying in a heritage hotel. Room service was better than expectation. Infact, being a government owned hotel, the service provided & the staff attitude, was at par, or rather, better than the private hotels. I had made full payment for the room rent when I booked this room online. But when I visited the hotel, I... More

The Kashmir House is a grand old heritage building located in a quiet cul de sac just off the very steep road going to McLeod Ganj. The ceiling of our room was higher than that of two average Mumbai flats! Not surprisingly the rooms are large, and a pleasant feature was the retention of the original, now antique furniture. Service... More
