I was planning this trip for months...going mad on the internet (trip advisor) to find an apt place to stay well within my budget...i read lot of reviews and finally zeroed down on Cloud End villa (summer home of King of Kangra). The staff here - Raju ji (09805547318) - the service incharge and Raghubir ji are extremely cordial. I... More

Arrived after a very long drive thru the foothills, greeted with wonderful cups of tea in the garden, room was massive, albeit a little short of light bulbs, heating was again by fan heater, but as we were up at 1700 metres, this was essential, yet another property without a washbasin plug or this time any face cloths. However the... More

The views were disappointing but a short walk along a path brought you to a most stunning vista. We werre there in February and it was cold. We kept our jackets on for breakfast and the staff had theirs on as well, despite two pitiful heaters. The food was good, the staff were willing if a little untrained. The bedroom... More

We recently stayed at this modest establishment, sold to us by the excellent views despite being 'basic'. The views - even without leaves on the trees, were poor. We FROZE! At dinner and breakfast we were served by waiters wearing outdoor coats. We kept our heater on all night and slept fully clothed. Throughout the establishment there were no carpets... More

The property belongs to one of the royal families from the region and converted to a hotel so it feels like you are staying at their home, only the royal quarters are different. We stayed in the standalone cottage and the suite was good but the room facing the back was damp, cold and lacked sunlight. The trees, some of... More

I've visited to so many places in India but never had such a beautiful and pleasant experience here at Cloud End Villa. It has such a pleasant ambience - calm, quiet and beautiful what we really miss at big cities and come to hill station. The property is simply best that I can't put it in words. The food is... More

It was a vacation wherein 2 families wanted to spend time together. After a lot of deliberation, online research and equiries, we decided on this place primarily because it offered a family cottage overlooking a garden and had very royal feel to it. Also raghubeerji, the caretaker of this place was a very pleseant to talk to. The cottage has... More

I spent my first night at a place called Villa Paradiso at the junction of McLeod Ganj and it was ridiculously overpriced (RS3,000 per night) for what it was. So I moved to Cloud End Villa, which although was a RS300 taxi ride to and from McLeod Ganj was quite a unique experience. The property is owned by the King... More
