I stayed for 10 days. Every morning I woke up with birds singing, every evening I spent time at terrace with watching landscape or reading books. If you want calm and peaceful holiday, here is the best place. And, I ate thali first time here. It was so tasty! I ate thali at other restaurant, guesthouse, but Jagatram Niwas is... More

We stayed for 5+ weeks at Jagatram Niwas Homestay, and it was an amazing stay! We initially booked for one month to stay during our yoga teacher training course which took place on the other side of the village, and extended for an extra week because of the amazing views, quietude, and hospitality of the family who owns the guest... A perfect place to spend a lazy weekend, this homestay is situated In Heini village, just above Mcleodganj. A five minutes walk will take you to the town square via Bhagsu. Rooms are neat & with a terrace facing the valley.. There is a common kitchenette below for use.. All you need for a perfect village retreat..

Thanks so much for such a positive review. We're really glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope that we can welcome you back in the future. I should point out that your review indicated that McLeodganj main square is five minutes' walk from Jagatram Niwas. If you walk to the main square via Bhagsu, it's actually more like 35... More

I just returned back home to Norway after spending two wonderful weeks at the Jagatram Niwas Homestay Guesthouse. It was exactly how I was hoping it would be. For me, perfectly located in the outskirts of McLeod Ganj (20-30 minute walk one way to get to the city centre). Bavinder with his entire family were wonderful hosts, and the food... More

Went there with fellow backpackers.....we reached there quite late in the night....and the owner happily provided us the cab to pick us up from dharamshala......ideally one should reach here while still there is day light as the place is located in haini village....you have to get off your cab and trek your way up to this place....and carry your luggage... Thank you for your positive comments – we’re glad you enjoyed the home-cooked food, views and trekking. Regarding the confusion about your final bill, please accept our apologies. Hostelworld actually takes 15% commission – recently increased from 10%. Bavinder, the guest house owner, was unaware of this and, because I was overseas at the time of your visit, he was... More

Very nice and neat room! It looks very cosy and the manager and especially booking manager provides good service. Breakfast is included and the dinners you can order are very tasty. Downside is no wifi and a bit of a walk from town, but you know that in advance :) and the beds are very hard. good hiking in the... More

This homestay was one of the best places I stayed at in India! It is quite a walk from the villages bhagsu and mcleod, but the peace is worth it. The rooms are really nice and clean, you can provide your own warm water with the boiler. Only downside; the beds are very hard! The family is very nice, especially... More

A really beautiful guesthouse with very nice owners. Has a fantastic view of the whole valley. It's an easy walk to Bhagsu which is fun but a bit too backpackery; certainly seemed very western. The walk up to Triund pass was one of the best we saw on our whole trip with very easy access from the guesthouse (it's about... More

I stayed at Jagatram Niwas from 30 Sep to 4 Oct. it is an immaculately clean place, with spotless linen and very clean rooms and bathroom. It has great views of the Dharamkot Valley and great birding in the Nala behind. Areas requiring considerable improvement for a great experience is the quantity and quality of food which currently leaves much... More

We stayed their in Oct 2014 and honestly the accommodation is not good for a group of friends heading to Mclo. for chilling as there are too many restrictions. the free breakfast was never included as we were charged for the same. you can not sit outside in the open area in the night unless you decide to keep the... Thank you for taking the time to review Jagatram Niwas. We’re glad that you found your rooms comfortable. Regarding your other points: 1) I have spoken to Bavinder, the guest house owner, and he reported that, after your one night’s stay, you rose at around 10am and asked for tea, which he was happy to provide, but that you made...
