I was travelling solo to Dharamsala for 4 days. Stayed here at this wonderful guesthouse with Bhavinder and his family. Set a little off the beaten path by foot, it provided a brisk morning walk down into the main part of Bhagsunag and quite the trek back up the same way, for amateur mountaineers it would be quite a good... We stayed with Bavinder, Rekha and family for a month, while my wife did a yoga teaching course at a school nearby. Jagatram Niwas is a large, freshly painted (in mint green) guesthouse/homestay in Heini village above Dharamkot and Bhagsunag. While a walk to get to from both villages (or a car to Heena cafe), the location is stunning with... More

It is very badly placed, have to make loads of efforts to reach there. The management was badly behaved, even the food was costly and lacked variety. Nothing seems inviting over here. People wander drunk in the lobby.

Jagat Ram Niwas is a terrible place to stay. To reach this place is itself a mission. No transport connectivity. You have to walk miles to reach this place and that too on steep paths with your luggage. The owner is so rude and treats Indians very badly. A line what he said to us is "Indians ka to kaam... We usually thank our guests for providing feedback on Tripadvisor but in this case we feel unable to do so because of the offensive language you used in your review. We sent the following information regarding the guesthouse location and amenities to you well in advance of your stay and we suggest that, if you found this did not meet... More

The host family is most gracious and welcoming, a very enjoyable family to spend your vacation with. The food is excellent. The scenery is phenomenal, the view is spectacular and far enough away from the city so you can get some peace and quiet. The perfect place for a quiet retreat.

So I wanted to visit Triund Hill. Multiple websites charged extortionate amounts to provide a guide (I was travelling by myself) Here I was welcomed openly. Given a guide. The owner kindly lent me his trekking boots and protective clothing for the journey (it was an opportunistic visit!) Very welcoming. Not rushed. Lovely family. Great guide! My only regret is... Went to Dharamsala for a relaxing week after traveling through Indian cities for a for a fast-paced month long college religion course. As a group of 8 we had three rooms with their own bathrooms (all shared a porch) and one room that used a community bathroom (not in their room). We used the kitchen to make chai and kept... More

We arrived to Jagatram a couple of days upon our arrival to India, craving for some serenity and we got just that at Jagatram. Somewhat remote from the hustle and the bustle of Bhagsu and Dharmakot and probably more suited to the younger and adventurous types which was just fine for us, personally. Great stay, very recommended. Pavel
