This permanent tented lodge is commensurate with the experience f being in Africa. The experience of trekking for gorillas just blends nicely into the adventurous feel of luxurious tent lodging. These permanent tents have electricity and plumbing .. A claw foot soakingbtub is a delight and the shower which opens up to the trees outside adds to the agicsl feeling... More

This is the perfect lodge for gorilla trekking in Buhoma. The staff is very friendly and care taking. We had a great time together with our 3 juniors! The chalets are huge and very clean. Its good time to relax after the trekkings. More

The team at the SGFC were amazing and very friendly. Upon arrival the team showed us to our beautiful lodge which was very luxurious incorporating your own private bathroom, bedroom and balcony. We spent two days with two different gorilla groups and found the experience truly amazing. The SGFC is located within walking distance of the majority of the start... More

I was in Uganda with the Africa Wildlife Foundation and had just gotten back from a fantastic nine hour gorilla trek in Bwindi . After dinner I started feeling sick , a probable adverse reaction to Malerone, and by morning I could hardly walk. I was out of it for two days afterwhich I realized I had left my wallet... More

This lodge is excellent, the staff are so helpful & kind. After arriving back from a long 14 hour day, trekking the gorillas, our soaking wet boots & clothes were taken from us & arrived back the next evening, cleaned & dry. The hot bath was a real treat that evening. Nothing was too much trouble & we were made... More

First and foremost, I'd venture to say that Uganda is my favorite. It's lush and breathtaking...not to mention that it houses the endangered elusive giant of the African forest, the mountain gorilla. It had more lakes than any other country that I've been to in Africa (and I haven't been to too many). It's also of higher elevation (up to... More

It was like coming home, after hallmark stays at their other properties in Tanzania. Service was tops, staff friendly, surprisingly great dinners (and breakfasts). Had an incredibly special evening with Dr. Scott, a US doctor who has dedicated much of his professional life helping the communities in the area. Stopping by to see his hospital and work is well worth... More

We stayed here for a couple of days whilst Gorilla treking. A mix of jungle style huts with lots of more familiar services (Wifi, etc) Just inside the national Park and quiet and peaceful with nice garded full of birds. Staff were always helpful and all requests were responded to quickly. Organizing walks and transport all of which are essential... More

This was a great place to stay. Ian,Susan and all the staff were very gracious to our family. And the chef prepared excellent meals! As an added bonus, the gorilla payed a visit to mother while the rest of us treked the hard way! More

What an amazing place to stay and rest your tired musles after a hike through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest observing the majestic Mountain Gorillas. My aunt, friend and I had an incredible, 3 night stay at the GFC with Ian as a superb host. The rooms are lovely, the bathtubs with an open view of the forest is splendid, the... More
