Marvellous lodge with the best views ever. Completely unexpected fabulous architecture in this remote place. The staff were great and the food was good. They made a birthday cake for my husband and, as we were the only people staying there that night, the whole staff clustered around to sing happy birthday. A very special memory. The cabins are great... More

This lodge is on a ridge overlooking the majestic Lake Mutanda and it's volcanic backdrop. The beauty of the surrounds is amplified by the Guedi-style construction of brightly coloured Disneyesque apartments along the hilltop. This apparently crazy construction works! We loved it for it's quaintness, comfort and views. No mosquitoes here! The lodge is simply too high in altitude. However,... More

Outstanding accomodations for our trip to visit the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southern Uganda. We were picked up at the Kigali, Rwanda airport by an operator out of Kampale and driven to this gorgeous location overlooking a beautiful lake, islands and volcanoes. Trip from Kigale took about 4 hours: roads are good in Rwanda to Ugandan border, last... More

A volcano for a view is not a usual site. A view with 7 volcanoes - one of them glowing red on a clear night, an island-dotted lake and hills covered with banana plantations, all not too far from the rare mountain gorillas, are a gift from nature. Chameleon Hill has probably the best view of all lodges used for... More

The only risk of going to Chameleon hill is that you might not leave the lodge at all during your stay. Let's face it, many lodges in Uganda and East Africa are nice places to stay and can deliver good to great comfort and food. But until I went to Chameleon hill I didn't know there was one missing ingredient... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Patrick & Charles were superb hosts. Lodge has the most beautiful view & was relatively close to gorilla trekking. The drive to the lodge was a bit unnerving. Take clothes & sweets for the children in the surrounding village as they will appreciate it. We wish we could go back &spend more time there.

We loved our stay at Chameleon Hill. The colorful bungalows are creative and comfy. Food is excellent; service is excellent; views are breathtaking. Make sure your driver has 4WD to navigate the roads ... you'll definitely get your "African massage" en route to this lovely lodge. We highly recommend it! It's a great choice if you're visiting the gorillas in... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Chameleon Hill while gorilla tracking. The facility is outstanding. Patrick and his staff were so friendly and helpful. We felt right at home. The view will take your breath away. Definitely plan on staying at the Chameleon if you are visiting Bwindi to track gorillas.
