In a unique rainforest setting this is one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed. The food was great, the rooms beautiful and comfortable. The staff at the lodge are very very attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The lodge felt very safe and tranquil with only the sounds of nature to listen to. The stars at night are... More

Lovely room with plenty of space. Very friendly staff. Food was best we had in uganda. Nice setting near river. Seeing the gorillas of course was the highlight. Very peaceful setting with a nice deck outside. Perfect setting for a coolbeer.

Beautiful lodge, lovely staff, fantastic views and wildlife, great food, comfy rooms with washing facilities too, wifi available. Go to the village just up the road as all money goes back to the locals or the orphanage, don't be shy just go and see their wares, lovely crafts and the more support they get the more the gorillas benefit too... So how can the lodge get five stars when: the wifi did not work, no television, no spa or health club, no air conditioning, the bedding and towels were damp (this is a rainforest....) and we were accidentally locked into our chalet from the outside with no exit? The answer is that everything else was remarkably good. Here are some... More

Spent two nights here to see the gorillas. Staff are very friendly, food is remarkably good (considering you're in the middle of nowhere), rooms are comfortable. The views in the communal area into the rain forest are excellent. The lodge is only a few minutes from the entrance into the National Park. The lodge has charging facilities in the communal... Food is excellent, views are mind blowing overlooking Bwindi, the comfort really good.

Stayed here in April 2014 with my partner for my birthday. Beautiful place, great views, staff seemed great at first. Gorillas came to visit on the hotel grounds (peering in the window!!). Wanted to stay an extra night because we were loving it so much. Then it all went down hill! Had 800,000 Ugandan shillings (~£180) stolen from my room.... More

I stayed at the Engagi Lodge in February and loved the experience. The views of the surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are amazing -- green, lush, quiet and peaceful. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The location is close and convenient to the meeting place/starting point for gorilla trekking. But it's the staff and service at Engagi that sets this... Staying 2 nights here was an absolute pleasure! With only one other couple staying here, we literally had the place to ourselves. Our room was clean and comfortable, beautiful views and probably the best shower of the trip. You have to run the water for a good 4-5 minutes to receive the hot water, but well worth the wait. Ok so this lodge has all the things what you would expect from a high end lodge in Africa - good service, friendly staff, quality food and comfortable accommodation. What makes it 5* (and more) is a) the stunning location looking over the forest - so beautiful and peaceful it has to be seen to be believed and b) the... More
