Stayed here in April 2014 with my partner for my birthday. Beautiful place, great views, staff seemed great at first. Gorillas came to visit on the hotel grounds (peering in the window!!). Wanted to stay an extra night because we were loving it so much. Then it all went down hill! Had 800,000 Ugandan shillings (~£180) stolen from my room.... More

I stayed at the Engagi Lodge in February and loved the experience. The views of the surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are amazing -- green, lush, quiet and peaceful. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The location is close and convenient to the meeting place/starting point for gorilla trekking. But it's the staff and service at Engagi that sets this... Staying 2 nights here was an absolute pleasure! With only one other couple staying here, we literally had the place to ourselves. Our room was clean and comfortable, beautiful views and probably the best shower of the trip. You have to run the water for a good 4-5 minutes to receive the hot water, but well worth the wait. Power... More

Ok so this lodge has all the things what you would expect from a high end lodge in Africa - good service, friendly staff, quality food and comfortable accommodation. What makes it 5* (and more) is a) the stunning location looking over the forest - so beautiful and peaceful it has to be seen to be believed and b) the... More

We stayed here in December 2013. The staff were great, really friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic, eaten in a restaurant with views out over the valley to the mountain forest. Two days before our stay one of the local gorilla families had been wandering around the hotel grounds and you could still see their paths where the vegetation... More

Beautiful place with an attentive staff. The view from the room and from the dining room was beautiful!! My favorite lodge we stayed in Uganda. The food was AMAZING. You are walking distance to the meeting place for gorilla trecking.

We have just come back from 2 nights at Engagi. This place is so homely with an open fire in an outdoor living room that looks right onto Bwindi rainforest. The rooms are spacious and clean, you can order early wake up calls with locally ground coffee brought to your room! Laundry is included. The food here was fantastic! This... More

If you want to be transported to another world and experience, Engagi is the place for you. Like all people who stay here, we (aged 63) were on a gorilla trek. Gorillas--fantastic: Engagi--spectacular! We arrived after a 13 hour drive from Kampala (fantastic, but longer than planned). Friendly and happy staff, hot food, cold beer, and good wine were waiting... More

This lodge was a real Waw experience. We arrived here just a few days before December 24 in 2012 and were the only guests at the lodge. The staff were very helpful from first contact, taking care of luggage, going though the paperwork, and all of this happened in the beautiful dining room and reception area and terrace with an... We stayed at Engagi Lodge in June 2013. The staff was incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating. Our room had a big glass door that looked out on the forest as did the restaurant and lounge. Our laundry was done (at no charge) each day. We were even escorted to the ranger office for our gorilla trek even though it was... More
