In August 2014 my husband and I made a rush decision to stay over at Whispering Pines one Sat evening. It was very cold that night but the piping hot fire in our room was a treat. The dinner is the event we need to talk about though. The food was simply divine. We enjoyed the cozy, intimate setting of... More

Magaliesburg is a quaint and historic town in the small mountain range of the same name. The forested surroundings, Cradle of Humankind, steam railway, cheese factory and a host of local micro industries make it a haven close to the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg and an ideal venue for a host of other reasons – romantic weekend, conference or... Ideal for small conferences. The staff is just amazing. Nothing too much effort. Tracy was extremely helpful and accommodating. The conferencing facilities are private and everything works like clock work. Can not fault them on anything. The food is well above the expected standard for conferences. The peach, spinach and peanut brittle salad is absolutely divine! The rooms are spacious... More

We spent a night at Whispering Pines after more than 10 years ago. We were personally welcomed by Lourette, and the Estate is still one of the best in Magaliesburg. This haven with spacious chalets, good food is an absolute must to experience. To all the staff, thanks for making our special night, one to remember.

We have been going to Whispering Pines for the last 15 years, we have just come back from a 3 night stay, and what can I say. The grounds are lovely, we prefer the concept of each couple having a private chalet and that is one of the reasons we keep going back. The chalets are spacious and has a... More

Everybody should experience this quiet breakaway haven! We live just a few kilometers away from Whispering Pines Country Estate and yet it felt as if we were in another country... We were personally welcomed by Lourette as if we were family. We stayed in the Honeymoon room (chalet 2) which is the most beautiful place. The patio overlooks an autumn... More

Stayed with another couple over the Xmas break.. Went with no real expectations except to rejuvenate and have a quiet break ...Stayed in the chalets, rooms were spacious with kingsize bed, shower and bath.. comfortable, with a lovely patio shaded by leafy trees and singing birds.. I have to commend on the food and service! Xmas lunch was a true... More

We stayed here for the weekend of my birthday 25 October 2013. We were very warmly received by Janice and Tammi and made to feel very welcome. To be honest, the cottage was not quite what I expected, it was somewhat dusty and did not strike me as being throughly cleaned. there were ants that were falling from the roof... More

It was meant to be a family birthday party, but it turned out more than that. Located in countryside settings in the Magaliesburg area about an hour's drive from Sandton, the resort has lovely independent cottages (and a villa!) that are well-equipped and have a choice of both modern electric heating as well as a basic (and romantic) fireplace. The... More

My wife and I stayed at Whispering Pines for two days during April 2013. We had absolutely excellent service and really enjoyed the tranquil surroundings. The food was of the highest standard and the setting is really lovely. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome all the time. I rate this resort very highly.
