Let me say at the outset that I LOVE Budmarsh.(see my previous review ) I love the restfulness...the service...the food...the home from home atmosphere. But this visit I have mixed feelings. We needed a good rest so Budmarsh was an obvious choice for a heavenly 4 night break. The first day/night was excellent as always. Fabulous service, excellent dinner, fire... More

Budmarsh Country Lodge is the perfect get-away for those seeking a tranquil, warm and inviting time away from the buzz of the City. The rooms are large, the bed very close to heaven and the bath that you can do the backstroke in, purely delightful. I was also thrilled to see the size of the shampoo, lotion etc was big... More

I first stayed at Budmarsh a few years ago for one night and then in May this year we stayed for a night in the honeymoon suite for our wedding anniversary. Everything is looking rather dated and in need of some TLC. The grounds are still lovely but everything else is a little worn. The venue now seems to focus... More

From Waddling Ducks, to the most amazing food, Budmarsh is our new favorite retreat for a weekend away. From the time you arrive you feel welcomed by the staff and the friendly ducks wondering over the lush green lawns. The picnics are a must for a day or relaxation under a tree. Save yourself for the most amazing 6 course... More

Booked this B&B for my wife’s birthday. The drive off the main road was in terrible condition. We almost got stuck a couple of times. They fixed it by the time we left. Just keep in mind that you may need high clearance vehicle if it is raining particularly hard. The room was nice but it was hard to put... More

My husband and I wanted to escape the city for a couple of nights before our first child is born. We saw that Budmarsh was offering a special which made our stay very affordable. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt relaxed. Budmarsh is beautiful! It's so close to Johannesburg that we weren't exhausted after... More

Waddling ducks and helpful caring staff. Great food wonderful room with spa bath to relax and tame the body. Views that stretch with picnics worthy of wasting the day over watching as the sun changes from dawn to dusk. Restaurant with food created with talent and flavour combinations making it worth the trip. Our new favourite place and hoping to... More

A gorgeous tranquil setting somewhere in the woods. Not too far from Johannesburg or Pretoria, but far enough to allow you to forget the daily madness. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and clean. There's chocolate truffles on your pillow every night and sherry on the bar for the perfect night cap. On a really cold night we came back to our... More

We had our second visit to Budmarsh in a year and thoroughly enjoyed it. The peace and tranquility of the hotel and surrounds makes it a perfect getaway from the city and one hardly ever bumps into other guests, even when the hotel is fully booked. Our room in the main house was very cosy, with the fireplace and jacuzzi... More

I will highly recommend Budmarsh. With it's tranquil setting and spectacular food, this was the perfect getaway for the Easter weekend. From the reservation with Tracy and the friendly staff at Budmarsh, everything was perfect! It was a nice surprise with the Lindt Easter bunny chocolates in our room and easter eggs all over the resort. The jacuzzi bath and... More
