I would like to extend a HUGE thanks to Marguerite & her team (Jeremiah & Innocence specifically) at La Provence/Out of Afrika!! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a romantic and intimate weekend away and was not disappointed; it was extremely relaxing and especially with celebrating my husband, it was made so special by your team with all the little... We re-visited this lovely get away and was reminded as to why we love this place so much! Comfortable accommodation, awesome food and service. For couples who appreciate the rustic this is a must. The massage on arrival set the stage for a really relaxing time away from the city. The afternoon spent on the banks of the river made... More

We planned to stay for 2 nights but left after the first night as the place disappointing on every level - shocking food, boiled eggs, frozen fish cakes and cold and very questionable sausages are posed as " picnic" brunch - they book you without confirming at their "goblins cove" restaurant which is severely overpriced and of significantly poor quality.... BONJOUR to all our potencial 'french affaire' customers. As the owner and very handson manager I do not agree with this review-- our french dinner basket consists of a set menu -- plat du jour-- meal of the day and is good homecooked fresh country food. The guest might have been vegetarian-- I have no excuse for the frozen fishcakes--... More

My wife took me away for a surprise birthday getway. And what a surprise it was. The resturant itself is great. But the accommodation was disgusting. Thee bath had rust stains and the walls weee covered in the creepiest deco. The were dolls heads in photo frames all over the show. I strongly recommend choosing somewhere else to go as... More

I read a few of the unfavorable reviews but decided to give this place a chance irrespective and was horribly disappointed. The overall look of the place was fine but the service experienced was painfully slow. The package include a dinner basket on the first night. It took us nearly an hour to receive of dinner basket and after my... More

We decided to go away last minute on a friday afternoon just for one night. The concept of teh place as well as pictures are beautiful. Perhaps we got a little unlucky with our room since it was so last minute. We got the only available room La Oliver The room was really dark and had a sort of depressing... More

I fell inlove with this place. I needed time out from the johannesburg madness and found this gem last minute. I was treated so well, the staff were fantastic. I was nervous to go away on my own but it was well worth it, i was made to feel very safe and the 2 beautiful dogs slept outside my cottage... More
