This hotel is not 5 star by standard ratings. However with the clean, large rooms, great outlook/s - sea or mountain and situated on the waterfront and adjacent to a park, it comes close. This is a great place to stay as a base to tour the Cape.

Simonstown is a small, quaint town and the hotel is situated near or next to a great selection of restaurants so not much driving around is required. There are numerous shops in and around the hotel. The views from the hotel are amazing. Highly recommend a sea facing room. The staff were helpful and everything was run smoothly.

Good hotel, sea view rooms are best, breakfast good. Room 309 is next to kitchen so if you plan to sleep beyond 6am make sure you don't get this room. Good location for sightseeing and eating out. Friendly helpful staff.

This hotel is amazing! It is situated in the heart of Simonstown overlooking the harbour and is surrounded by lovely shops, restaurants (open all day fro breakfast, lunch and dinner) and museums. There is so much to do and see within walking distance, other attractions are a short drive away. Whale watching and shark cage diving trips leave from the... More

We somehow ended up in South Africa twice in 90 days. A feat for two Americans living in Los Angeles, but one that also amounted to a certain amount of exhaustion. For our second trip, we felt like we needed a retreat from our travels if that makes any sense, and decided upon Simon's Town. It was just what we... More

I travelled to Cape Town in January this year and stayed in the Quayside Hotel in Simons Town. It is situated right in the middle of Simons Town on the harbour quayside. A brilliant position with excellent views across the bay. Saw British naval destroyers docking after being down to the Falklands. Stunning vessels. The room I had had a... More

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay in this superb seaside hotel in May. From the moment we walked in hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our wonderfully comfortable room overlooked the waterfront harbour and the hotel has a Naval/shipping theme throughout. Restaurants, coffee shops, quaint antique and curio shops are at the doorstep. Thank you to Gideon... More
