There is no doubt that the best part of this stay was the river safaris. The lodge itself is positioned right on the river bank and the bush pigs, crocs and hippo's wander around especially at night. It's pretty safe, but a very friendly staff member escorts you to your room when it's dark. The rooms are very well furnished... More

Dear Natalie V, We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay . We are privileged to be able to operate on the Shire which really is one of Africa’s great rivers. Please note that while we don t offer air conditioning, the design of our chalets with high ceilings and thick thatch does mean that they remain pleasantly cool even... More

Decent little safari adventure stop whilst in Malawi. Rooms are clean, staff friendly and food very good. Would not recommend staying more than a couple of days. Though there is a good concentration of wildlife, area is small and species are relatively limited. Went into the "Rhino and Zebra" area, or so we were told, and never saw either one.... More

Mvuu is more camp than lodge, with lovely individual chalets dotted around a gentle landscape overlooking the Shire River. Activities here are highly structured, i.e., game drives and river rides, but the very knowledgeable local staffers seem not to have lost their enthusiasm for the natural beauty and wonders of the place. They go out of their way to please.... More

In June 2014, my work took me to Malawi, Africa. My husband and two teenage boys joined me on this exciting trip. The greatest part of our adventure in beautiful Africa was to spend time at the Mvuu Lodge in Liwonde National Park. The exquisite animals and naturally gorgeous setting make this a worthwhile destination but the addition of the... More

From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left we were treated like royalty. The chalets are lovely. We were in a two bedroom unit that over looks the river. The beds were huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was very large and had a huge shower made of stone. We enjoyed the wart hogs that were eating about... More

Beautiful setting and A+++ service. We had our personal attendant (Michaels), and our tour guide was Matthews. The attention to detail and customer service was outstanding. Besides game drives and river cruises for the normal animal viewing, the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a personalized experience including a candlelit dinner on our cabin veranda and... I was in Lilongwe for work and came down to Mvuu for 2 nights with a colleague. It was our first game park in Africa. We had a wodnerful time. We had been warned that in rainy seasons it is harder to see aninmals, but we actually saw a lot, including lots of elephants. The rooms at mvuu camp are... More

It has been a while now since I visited Mvuu but I have to say don't leave Malawi without trying to get out there. The accommodation was amazing and the food was delicious. The activities and guides were the best I had experienced.

We spent 3 nights here , a last minute decision to include a visit. It was above all our expectations from the accommodation , the food and the exceptional friendliness of all the staff, thanks to Sarah and Nick for making our experience memorable. We saw lots of wildlife and did everything on offer from the early morning walks, boat... More

I don't think you can spent a night with this price in other national parks. Unfortunately, there are no lions or other predators, but you can see elephants and hippos very closely. I heard hippo noise from my chalet and felt I stayed in the center of wildness.
