We stayed here for a couple nights... What a fantastic retreat. Staff were excellent, food was fantastic. The suite was exceptional... just an overall wonderful experience... The only issue we had was the mosquitos, we were eaten alive in the time we went, even with repellant, but thats just the area, and nothing to do with Pumulani. It is quite... More

Just back from a 6 week tour of East Africa and on reflection Pumalani was one of our favourite places. Watched the sun set from the huge roll-top bath, a treat after a few weeks of safari showers! Beautiful views of the lake and huge room nicely furnished and extremely comfortable. Rob and Mona (lodge managers) are excellent hosts and... More

Amazing wild but safe environment with fab views of Lake Malawi. Sundowner with excellent Malawi gin and fresh samosas in a sailing dhow with friendly crew. After delicious dinner watched stars with real telescope, meteors, Saturn's rings - what a treat. My only complaint - the bathroom was so big it needed a string quartet to complete it. You need... We spent four nights here in May,and it was fantastic. The food, stargazing, snorkelling, are all brilliant but the management and staff deserve much praise for making our stay so special. If you are looking for an escape away from city life, this place is a must.

Pumulani website does not do the lodge any justice- you need to see it... lets start with the rooms... they are HUGE! Until you see them you cannot comprehend the sheer size of them... misleading from the outside. Pumulani is a great place to relax and forget about the outside world for a moment. Was my husbands 40th birthday and... More

Several generations of our family spent an ideal week-end at Pumulani. From the greeting by Alex and Jake, to the excellent lunch served immediately, to the extraordinarily spacious and well-equipped villas, to all the other subsequent meals served on the deck or on the beach, this place has it all together. The views from the bar and restaurant and pool... More

Luxury. Decadence. Getting spoilt. If you like that type of attention, this would be the place for you. The best of most worlds, right on the lakeshore, soft white sand beaches and a swimming pol for those who prefer familiarity. Stargazing, Sunset Sails on the Dhow and our personal favourite a Night Braai on the Beach. (Thats a BBQ for... More

Arrived at monkey bay after an exciting and beautiful plane ride from Lilongwe ( had a tyre blowout on take off but everything rearranged very efficiently by RP staff) . We were met by Alex and Corinne who were friendly and informative, then had a lovely lunch which they had delayed for us as we were late. When we were... More
