I would have given this place a 5 star review for campers, but unfortunately my 2 nights spent there were ruined by some extremely loud campers. One particular group of young guys decided to get rip roaring drunk on the Saturday night and cranked up their music really loud and were yelling some quite vile and disgusting things that I... Thanks for taking the time to review our property Ana. Your comments on the inappropriate behavior of this group of young men were spot on, and definitely not welcome at this campground. This would be the worst behavior I have witnessed during my 15 years of living at and running Mt Barney Lodge, and I was also appalled and offended... More

My husband and I stayed for a weekend and will definitely be back. It was relaxing and Tracey was so helpful with suggestions of where to visit near by. It is a tranquil and picturesque spot, ideal for a romantic escape or taking the family. The amenities were clean and there is plenty of fire rings and firewood to keep... More

Our family is new to camping and we stayed here for 3 nights recently (2 adults, 1 6-yr old). It was a beautiful spot, very quiet with a limit of 100 campers, creek running right below where we stay, excellent amenities block and awesome activities for children. If it's a long weekend, it's best to book for the children's activities... More

I was on that Kids Night Adventure Tour with Emily and it was special to the reactions of the kids to the Rocket Frog that crossed our path. They were fascinated with the size of it's back legs and the distance that these legs could launch it across the ground. Sightings of larger wildlife like the wallabies, bandicoots and sugar... I took my brother here a few weeks ago (and forgot to write a review), and we both loved it. It wasn't super busy when we went, which is always good, but with the amount of space available to choose from, it probably wouldn't matter anyway. The creek was great fun, cold, but very enjoyable to climb across and swim... More

We stayed in main homestead using both levels for my recent birthday weekend celebration. Our family thoroughly enjoyed themselves including our 5 youngsters aged from 11 months to 5 who were enthralled by the wild life. We were unsure who was most inquisitive our youngsters or the wild life. The accommodation is very comfortable and the facilities great to spoil... More

This place is a good example of why it is worth paying money to camp in a beautiful area. The National park sites are often fine but run down. MB Lodge is a delightful garden setting with basic but well maintained facilities, very good individual camp sites - some exceptional but first in best dressed; most with trees and open... More

Re your reference that our Outdoor Leaders = "ankle biter whisperers" - I love it!! Thanks for your feedback on the mini wheelie bins we place in the campground to collect your compost donations. You are right - the signage needs to be improved. Where it currently says "Green Waste", that statement is not necessarily understood by those who haven't... More

Had a wonderful experience with a groups of friends at this neat and charming little lodge. We were all new to hiking and this is the perfect place to base yourself for the many and varied scenic walks in the area. We stayed in the comfortable and cosy huts. The night time stone fireplace was well used and the verandah... More

Hey Suzanne, we have "big kids" activities as well - so no need to be jealous!! All of our activities can be pre-booked if you have a group of at least 4 people, you can be guided on an eco-walk with lots of interpretative information, or try some mountaineering with our experienced staff. There is also rockclimbing, abseiling, navigation training... More

What a Beautiful place to stay. The owners are so helpful, our kids loved the activities which included lantern making and kids night. Facilities are always clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend. Beautiful scenery and lots of swimming holes to cool off.

Our last stay at Mt Barney Lodge was almost 20 years ago. When John and Jenny Larkin owned the Lodge. It's great to see that this fantastic tourism destination has been left in good hands. Innis and Tracy have gone from strength to strength adding meals, tours and onsite campervans. We choose the campervan as an easy alternative to camping. We... More

Thanks for your review. As a wilderness lodge owner/operator, your comments are very much appreciated and valued. Just like you look to where the locals eat for a quality resturaunt, people should take note of where the tourism operators goto stay to have a fantastic holiday. ;) We still refer to our anniversary getaway at your Clarence River Wilderness Lodge... Wonderful base for walking around Mt Barney, and the creek has plenty of swimming holes to cool off afterwards. There are plenty of birds and wallabies around if you're into wildlife watching. The property is well maintained and we will definitely return.

We are so pleased that you had such a great time exploring the property and surrounds. Did you hear or see that glossy black-cockatoo?? They are a VIP " Threatened Species", and they can be seen with luck at Mt Barney Lodge right now. We recommend that when you come back to do the mountain ridges and peaks, that the... More
