My wife and I drove throughout Hokkaido starting from Chitose Airport to Kushiro, Lake Akan, Monbetsu, Asahikawa and ending in Sapporo. We stopped in Asahikawa to visit the zoo. Unfortunately the zoo is closed for most of April. My mistake for not checking. However there were more then enough activities close to the hotel to keep us entertained. I booked... More

Good location in this "classic" hotel with an English country side style. Hotel is well kept. Great onsen, do not miss the shihatsu massage, which is amazing. Breakfast is super both Japanese and western food. Service is just perfect. Fantastic value for money.

Service at the hotel was really good. Check in time was 3pm. We arrived but the room wasn't ready. The check in counter staff asked us to wait for 30min at the bar area and gave us each a free drink of our choice. Helped us with our luggages voluntarily once we arrived at the hotel door until our rooms.... More

Everything is perfect about this hotel. From the hotel staff to the dining area for breakfast. Room is a little dated ~ doesnt seem to match up with the ambience of the grand lobby. A nice walk near hewa dori kaimono koen but even during summer shops are closed by 730pm.

Being about 10-15 minutes on foot from JR Asahikawa Station you may want to take a taxi considering this is one of the coldest places in Japan. Although it's not impossible to walk the distance up the main street to the hotel, as the pavements are generally kept clear of much of the ice & snow, it can get slippery... More

Perhaps a bit shabby, but the venue has most of the things you expect from a "grand" hotel. Rooms are not too spacious, but OK. Internet is provided, mattress is confortable, spa (sauna) is available. Beware of the Japanese cushions filled with plastic pellets. Not very soft. In the morning you have the choice beween a (overcrowded) buffet-style breakfast and... More

Room is big & spacious compared to others hotels in Hokkaido. Tried the breakfast, value for money. Tried the Plateau Spa, average experience . Tried the massage, will... More

When you walk in, this looks a very grand hotel. Rooms are nicely furnished, and the twin room we had easily handed us and our 7 year old daughter. Not super spacious, but they never are in Japan, but bigger than most. The staff were really helpful, and although not everyone spoke English, there was always someone on hand who... More

Located at the center of Asahikawa City, this luxury hotel offers good services and comfortable room. Breakfast is also the great part of this beautiful stay. Japanese Style is recommended. However the parking fee cost 500 JPY per night.

Yes, the Asahikawa Grand Hotel. Comfortable and well sited, reasonable but tasty food (non-Japanese is what I sampled) and a friendly & helpful stay. Recommended!
