It was terrible All the hotel needs renovation The worst was the bathroom : old and dirty It was impossible to use the bath All the shops ( they call it the souk) was closed There is only a restaurant and no bar The pool is ridiculous, so small A man give you a towel which must be used from... We really loved staying here. It was a nice change from the business style hotels in Jordan where every room looks the same. The rooms are small rustic cottages, each one had it's own front door and inside it was decorated in typical Jordanian furnishings e.g. colourful rugs, tiled flooring etc. Because of the way the hotel is laid out,... We just returned from a visit to Wadi Rum and Petra (May 2007). We booked the trip through a Jordanian agent (Zaman Tours Wadi Musa) and as it was my husband's birthday I requested a "luxury" experience. We were met at the boarder with Israel by a pleasant driver who drove so fast that he got a speeding ticket! We... More

This hotel is described as 'rustic', however 'rustic' isn't an excuse for shoddy presentation and poor service. Just finding the hotel is difficult as there are no signs anywhere on the route from Petra. When we did finally find the place, the carpark was totally jammed by guests attending a wedding, and the hotel staff were completely unable to deal... More

when I decided to spend 3 nights in Petra, I could not decide between the Movenpick & Taybet Zaman, ultimately chose Tabyet despite its distance from Petra, because it was a chance to stay at a 19th century Ottoman village converted into a "hotel" the hotel & my room itself were both charmingly decorated and I would have taken more... I have stayed in this hotel twice. It is an old Bedoin village that has been beautifully restored (we stopped at an old village like it at Dana on the way down). I love the atmoshphere - it is like no place else that I have stayed. The Movenpick at the Dead Sea is the only place that has a... More

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Taybet for 3 nights at the end of Sept. We arrived in the early hours of the morning at the airport and had a taxi transfer to the hotel. This via the desert highway takes around 2 1/2 hours. Upon arrival we were greeted straight away and check in was prompt and we... More

If you're looking for a resort or normal tourist hotel, stay at the Movenpick or Crowne Plaza up the road. This hotel is more for folks looking for a little something out of the ordinary, something unique and colorful. My wife, in-laws, and I all loved the hotel, which was a nice change of pace from the normal run-of-the-mill corporate... More

I have just returned from staying a few nights at this hotel. The first thing that struck me was when I called to make a reservation 2 weeks before I was told they were fully booked, my girlfriend turned up on the day we wanted to stay and they had numerous rooms vacant - there only seemed to be 5... As tourism reporter, I used to travel a lot and check out deluxe hotels all over the world. This time, I decided to come back to Jordan with my wife for holidays. With our rented car, we reached the Taybet without reservation, after visiting some other hotels. It was fully booked. However, since I was insisting and even daring to... More
