First impressions were ok, however when you look at the finer details the whole building shows very poor craftmanship, ie: filthy carpets, ancient lifts, grouting between tiles is not done properly, shower curtain pole broken(fixed with tape), very cheap looking furniture. Hotel staff very friendly and ready to help when asked about taxis, restaurants etc. Breakfast is served from 6.30 which... more

Come on people, you are here to see Petra - not lounge at fancy hotels. This is Jordan, and this hotel staff certainly had 150% Jordanian hospitality. We arrived at 4am from the airport and the hotel let us check in that early, where we proceeded to pass out for 4 more hours. This hotel had everything we were looking... more

My wife and I had a reservation for 2 nights, and knew in advance that it was not the best of the hotels. But, ok we just wanted a place nearby the site entry, and all we needed was a nice clean room to sleep. The drama started as we put or first foot on this horrible hotel. The smell... more

The other reviews sum up this hotel well - it is mediocre in every way and the front -desk staff share the habit of so many others of their vocation in Jordan of ignoring guests while conducting their own private conversations. These annoyances pale however in comparison with the issue of fire safety. I stayed in this hotel, with a... more

Kerosene perhaps that is what they use to kill bugs if you want a safe deposit box get in quick they have six for the entire hotel and they are tiny although they appear to be still building the rear section , the rooms... more

I stayed last year with Jules Verne and why they put their guests here I don't know! It was disgusting, chunks of brick out of the walls, dirty and threadbare worn rugs, carpets. Food awful, cold, dark dingey. No fridge in the room, no tea/coffee making facilities. Towels thin and tiny. I felt thoroughly dirty all the time I was... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during our vist to Petra. For the $100 price it really does have not much to offer. Our room was in the older wing and was very tired looking and very worn. It was stuffy in there and the aircondioning did not work, but they did fix that after we said something... more

My husband and I stayed at the Petra Palace for three nights and it was okay, very basic, and other than the location which is ideal, it really has nothing more to offer. I will say the staff were friendly and helpful, and when we wanted to stay an additional night (for convenience, not ambience), they were full but quickly... more

We stayed at this hotel as part of a small tour group and were very pleased with the rooms and amenities. The hotel has some building work going on, which as others have said, necessitates some coverings of carpets over various areas. However, despite the fact our room was right next to some of the work (on floor 6 in... more

We stayed as part of a Tour group, so reservations were done for us. Our room was at the back overlooking the pool ( quite cold, but swimmable). Large room, two small double beds. Clean with mediocre air conditioning. It was however quiet at night and so we slept well with the window open. This Hotel has a grand lobby... more
