This is a very ordinary hotel and the staff are pretty hopeless. Typical example. We were travelling with young children. When we arrived the pool was only half full. When will it be open? May be tomorrow was the answer. When pushed it turned out that it would not be open until May. So why lie? There is no gym... more

I stayed at the Marriott Petra for two nights on a visit to Jordan. The hotel is located outside the town of Wadi Musa, and is a bit of a hike to the town itself. The views from the hotel are amazing and a nice introduction to the entire Petra experience. Since the hotel is a bit isolated, we ate... more

I stayed at this hotel with a friend for two nights when visiting Petra. It is situated about 10 minutes drive from the city centre, so you will need a car in order not to be bored. Hotel facilities are somewhat limited. There is a spa and cinema, however during our stay there were no takers for the cinema hence... more

Enjoyed an overnight stay here. Staff friendly, Food good and a lovely big bed. One criticism - I asked when the pool opened and they said May. I could have done with a swim to clear the desert from my ears. They looked after bags and I collected them on the outward journey. The hotel is up and away from... more

We found the Marriott very clean and comfortable. Everything was crisp and fresh, not worn or soiled. We had a nice size room and the bathroom was a good size and clean and modern. The food was good and while the staff seemed to be not as polished as they could be, they were responsive and efficient. I had my... more

I booked this hotel based upon the reviews on Trip Advisor. Everything was lovely about this hotel, the rooms were clean and nice, the staff were attentive and service was great. Views were gorgeous. However, if I had known how far away from Petra it is I would not have stayed here. It is a good 10 - 15 minute... more

I had one very brief night in this hotel, checking in at 10 p.m. and leaving the next morning at 7:30. The Marriott Petra is situated up at the top of Wadi Musa, affording it spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Wadi Araba beyond. Entrance is via a small lobby, and indeed the hotel had a much more intimate... more

We stayed here for two nights in Feb. 2008. Our room was not ready on check in (at 3:30pm) so we opted to have a late lunch at the hotel before we went to our room. Only the restaurant downstairs was open. They had an ala carte menu but the buffet just ended. We ordered two soups and two meals.... more

As our second stop and second Marriott in Jordan I wasn’t expecting too much from the hotel. The Marriott here is ok, a bit nicer than in Amman. The hotel seems to cater to large groups. The lobby and common areas of the hotel are quite nice, but you still can’t tell if you are in Petra or Peoria aside... more

We stayed at the Marriott Hotel at Petra in November, and the hotel did not live up to expectations. Let me say the positives first...the hotel has spectacular views at sunset...the rooms are clean...the hotel itself is in decent shape, but needs some renovating. Now for the negatives: 1. The staff...seemed completely untrained. They did not even seem to understand... more
