Hotel is away from the town centre and the entrance to Petra. They pride themselves on their view, which isn't any good if your room overlooks the car park. Food in Italian Restaurant is ordinary, breakfast is poor quality. Rooms are ok, but nothing special.Stay at the Movenpik!! more

First you should note that there are infact 2 Marriot hotels in Petra, both abuot 500m from each other. the first one up on the hill was the one we stayed at, the food was average and over priced for the quality and quantity. we had CARPARK views when our rooms were meant to be MOUNTAIN VIEWS. the bedding was... more

Stayed for only one night at the end of November. Overall, the hotel was a good choice, although it is a car drive to the town. Hotel room was great, very clean and tidy and a reasonable size. The bed was comfy and had a total of 6 lovely, fluffy pillows, which ensured a good night's sleep. The hotel is... more

First the good bits - the hotel, which is situated just outside of town, has a great view of the Petra valley. Front desk staff were pleasant enough and check-in/check-out, though slow, was handled fine. Rooms are in real need of a refurbishment, especially if they want to continue to charge well over US$200 a night. Restaurant staff were unfriendly... more

During our trip in Jordan and after three hours traveling by car to Petra I found Marriott Hotel at top of Mountain with amazing view and Hospitable staff with traditional Jordanian touch. Manager on duty welcomed us when we arrived, receptionist offer help for every things, door man (Hamzeh provide us full information about hotel and Petra), the rooms was... more

Nov 4, 2009 | Trip type: Couples My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in Sept 09. The hotel was very nice , and had a great breakfast buffet. We also ate downstairs at the italien restaurant which had great food and reasonable prices. I didn't really interact with the staff so I can't comment on... more

M y husabnd and I stayed at this hotel in Sept 09 for two nights while visiting Petra. We were on an organized tour that had put us up in the nicest hotels we ever stayed at- that is up until this hotel. I don't want to rag on this hotel but it was just a mediocre, plain, nothing special... more

The view from the terrace across the canyon is just fabulous especially watching the sun slide beneath the horizon with a sunset cocktail in hand. A great happy hour too though after sunset, but it even applied to bottles of wine - buy one get one free. Good deal. The rooms were clean, but no tea and coffee making facilities,... more

This hotel is located outside Wadi Mousa with great views over Petra itself and the surrounding countryside. Although we thought it would be good to be located nearer Petra so that we could come back to the hotel for a rest during the middle part of the day; I doubt we would have done so as the walk out of... more

We couldnt work out from all the reviews on Petra where to stay and by the time we booked there was little availability so had to take this one. It was fine - room was large and the same as you'd find in the Uk, great view over the mountains. There is a courtesy bus to the Petra main gate... more
