My kids and I welcomed to the camp by its manager. We were the only 3 guests there at the time and were treated like royalties! In terms of facilities, they could improve the water pressure (and temperature) of the showers, but all in all it was a fantastic stay. Delicious breakfast, great tour around the canyons, superb! The camp... More

The point being is that there is just something wrong about the tents, because it was not THAT cold outside and we had a much better and more comforable experience when staying at more traditional unpretentious bedouin style camp. I think therefore that they have gone too much for "the look" rather than functionality.I must add though, that the staff... More

Breakfast was sliced tomato, cucumber, a dairy lea cheese triangle, yoghurt and Arabic bread. This was the same both days, the only difference on the second day was bits of material or hair in the yoghurt. The wind howled both nights, again not a problem except where the beds had been pushed together up against the fabric of the tent... More

There were six of us, really waiting for this experience - not for the convenience because it is hard to locate specially if you arrive late at night, and certainly not for the hygiene or comfort... If you are prepared to bear little cold water and can wait to have your hair washed in another place, if you bring along... More

We started our tour in Jordan to see Petra. Jordan itself was an eye opener as it's a very poor country and looks very 3rd world in all aspects. Arriving at the camp with 43 people in the dark was a mistake. The locals that worked there didn't take leadership and the organizing that was done by our tour leader... More

We stayed there two nights while we explored Petra and Little Petra. It was a bit further out from Petra than I expected but the setting was beautiful and the drive was only 15 minutes back to Petra town. We were the only people there so it was pretty quiet, except at night when the local Bedouin dogs started howling... More

After looking to different Options, I decided to book at The Rock Camp because of the amenities they offered. BIG MISTAKE. besides the Location, the rest was completely not true. No henna Tattoos, no kohl, no traditional Outfits, no buffet breakfast. they charged us 14 JOD (20 EUR) extra per person for the buffet dinner... not such a Thing. It... More

I visited the Rock Camp as part of a group travelling with Voyages Jules Verne. I wasn't looking forward to it as I thought that it would be too touristy for me but I left with a different point of view. Whilst we waited for our dinner we had drinks and were introduced to the delights of Kohl for our... More

We stayed 1 night at the Rock Camp, hiked the canyon (peaceful and beautiful!), learned to bake Bedouin bread, had a delicious dinner and breakfast, and enjoyed visiting with Ismail, Mahmoud, and the other staff at the camp. They made us feel relaxed and welcome and told stories of the area. We stayed in the Bedouin tents, basic tent with... More

The location is magnificent, the staff is excellent (Ismail and Mahmoud, thanks a lot!), food is very good and it is definetely a more than recommended option to avoid Wadi Musa and to visit Petra in a different way especially if you do not have time to have a bedouin experience in Wadi Rum. Keep in mind that it is a... More
