Stayed at the Rocky Mountain hotel for four nights, and loved it, staff very nice, food great, and free tea and coffee when you like, decent location with a great view over mountains at a very reasonable price.

We followed trip advisor good scores on this hotel and were very disappointed. Rooms did not feel clean, bed sheets had a horrible smell to them. Really disappointed by the stay. A shame as the staff was lovely.

Hi - so sorry you were disappointed. I am not sure what went wrong as all sheets go to the laundry and are fresh on the bed plus the rooms and bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned upon each check out. Clean rooms are paramount for me and I check all rooms before people are checked in - I wish you would... More

First thing to note is that the hotel is located approximately 2.5km up the hill from the Petra Visitors Centre, however, the hotel does offer a free shuttle service to the visitor centre in the morning, and back from the Visitors Centre in the evening. If you’re arriving by bus from Amman, it will drop you at the Visitor Centre,... More

Hi - I think that anyone coming to the Rocky Mountain should bear in mind we are a budget hotel/hostel. The advertised price includes all taxes and a good breakfast which makes us relatively cheap. Most of the rooms and bathrooms are small which is why we keep ourselves at the budget level of accommodation. We do our best to... More

Jane runs a comfortable and well thought out hotel that is really welcoming. The staff are all lovely, rooms comfortable and functional (and heated), and there is a great common area which is warm and cosy, perfect for when you come back from Petra absolutely exhausted! These guys also make a great, fresh dinner every night, should you elect to... More

I was unsure of what to expect when told by my tour guide where I would stay in Wadi Musa, but I couldn't be more grateful to have been booked here! The room was comfy and warm, and the rooftop terrace was my favourite place! It's so pretty - dinner, breakfast and tea time were all just so magical here!... More

There's a mix of locals and expats at this place, all connected in an awesome network of helpfulness. They have great recommendations for tours, tracked down a lost camera, and generally made our visit to Petra an amazing time. The food and common area is great. Rooms are nothing special, bit they are clean and comfortable. I wouldn't go back... More

Rocky Mountain hotel was just perfect for my 2 night stay in Petra. Jane is a helpful host and works hard to meet all the guest needs. The morning breakfast is very filling and delicious - just what you need to head out for a day of hiking in Petra. The breakfast room is cozy and offers you a chance... More

A cosy and clean hotel with an authentic Jordanian feel and a bedouin decour, family run by a New Zealander Jayne and her family. Its perfect, especially for those adventurous travellers who want to experience Jordan and Petra without being 'riped off' by mega hotel chains and tour operators, as offer very honest prices. Location: the top of the hill,... More

Perfect budget hotel if you have a rent-a-car. About 5min. drive to the Petra visitor center. If not, they have the shuttle service from the hotel to the Petra's visitor center. The hotel is located on the top of the hill of Wadi Musa. We got a room with the amazing view of the Wadi musa and Petra area. It... More

We spent a night at Rocky Mountain Hotel as a "break" between spending nights in Bedouin camps. Our room was clean, spacious, and contained all of the amenities of a typical Western hotel. Although this hotel is a good distance from town, you are rewarded with a stunning view from the rooftop terrace. The dinner provided by the hotel was... More
