This is definitely a guest house, not a hotel. The rooms are very basic and need a refurbishment desperately. The staff are indifferent and only talk if they are spoken to. The Cave Bar next door is a strange location with a man made cave (I think) and only one member of staff to serve the bar. It is however... More

It was so nice to be right next door to Petra as we went on 2 days. It rained the night we were there and we thought it would be too slippery to go back to the site but it was fine. the hotel was very friendly and let us check in early. We had 3 rooms and one turned... More

We stayed for one night as part of our visit to the ancient Nabataean city of Petra. The hotel is literally at the entrance to the site and next to the Tourist Information Centre where you buy the entrance tickets (make sure you have Jordanian cash money to pay for the tickets as they do not accept credit cards!!). The... More

Rooms clean and functional. Restaurant does not have any atmosphere and breakfast ok. But I think hotel needs a bit of upgrading. Very convenient location for entrance to Petra. Good Cave Bar next to hotel too.

We stayed here last week for 2 nights as part of a fantastic tour arranged by Jordan Select Tours. This hotel is right next to the entrance to Petra...you can't get any closer! It is also near the Tourist Information Centre and shops where you can buy souvenirs and water etc. The hotel blends well with the environment and the... More

The location is excellent but there are several more hotels within five minutes more including the stylish movenpick. I had read in the lonely planet guide that guests could use the facilities of the crown plaza including the pool. Was disappointed to discover the hotel had closed down and no access to a pool which would have been nice after... More

Other postings have said it – the location can’t be beat after a long walk through Petra. However, the Movenpick is just another 2 minutes walk further, and a few other hotels another 2 minutes more. Like EVERYWHERE else in Jordan, the people were friendly and helpful at all times. The “built into the stone” theme is a little kitschy,... More

I agree with those who said you don't go to Petra to spend time in your hotel. In this context the Petra Guest House is a decent choice. On the positive side, it is right at the entrance to the park. Also, we were able to get a smoke-free room which really seemed smoke-free, which is somewhat rare in Jordan;... More

Stayed here for 3 nights as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a lovely room in the outside bit (not sure what its called?) which was spacious and very comfortable. The TV had lots of international channels, the air conditioning was modern and easy to use and the bed was fantastically comfortable! The only downside to the room... More

This superior hotel is adjacent to the main ticket office and entrance to the Petra site. The rooms are very pleasant whilst the food is perhaps a little lacking in imagination. The Cave Bar can be disapointing as it gets filled with younger travellers who ask for and are given loud music. Overall the drawbacks are offset by the location... More
