The hotel was booked by our tour operater. The location is on a hilltop with only a few houses around and no shops. It's very difficult to climb down and up if you need to go to the centre of town. The hotel is clean and the food is average for its class. Internet access is expensive and I think... More

This hotel was chosen by our tour company, but isn't really flash. It's not really convenient to anything. The staff are off handed. The internet is expensive. For what you get, the room rate isn't cheap. However, it's a major tourist town, so prices are inflated. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast was ok. You can do better.

I stayed here as part of a group tour. The hotel is decent enough, clean rooms, nice food in the restaurant. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. It is a bit of a way from the centre of town and Petra, but for the group tour it was sufficient. There were also protests when we were there, so downtown... More

The hotel is an average one, nothing much to write about. The room was OK although the aircon was noisy. The breakfast was also so-so, with no choice for vegetarians. But the worst was the hotel location. It was totally isolated with nothing near about, being the last structure at the end of the town.

Oscar is located at the end of Wadi Musa town, which is the base for visiting the top of the Seven Wonders of the World, Petra. Visiting the Petra Archeological Park from this hotel is inconvenient. There are many options closer to the Park at the same cost. Service was average, specially buffet breakfast was very ordinary. No options for... More

I have stayed at the hotel for about 7 nights. Although a bit far from the village, you get breathtaking views on the village and Petra. When you want to get away from all the stress... this is the place to be. The room was pretty good and clean. And the heating... worked perfectly. I only had breakfast at the... More

First impression after arrival not bad at all. Past the reception – hallways and rooms weren’t vacuumed possibly ever. Room heating not functional. One of the light fixtures not working. The bathroom with the usual mold decoration around the bathtub. Dining room – clean, food indifferent fare, about par for Jordan. Be aware – a small glass of red wine... More

The Oscar Hotel, situated in the hills of modern Petra, is visually stunning with wonderful views of the region and impressive-looking furniture and decorations. Further, the on-sight restaurant boasts a fabulous makluba (a yummy Jordanian dish of upside-down chicken, eggplant, potatoes, cashews, and rice pilaf with yogurt). The dinner buffet is excellent as well. But that's where the happiness ends.... More
