We recently stayed Casa del Suizo and can't believe how poorly run the hotel is given its incredible potential. The views are dramatic as the entire hotel sits atop a hill overlooking the river. There is a large pool in the center w/ the bar and restaurant wrapping around it. The rooms are above basic, but not luxurious - albeit... More

My Army buddy and I stayed two days at this La Casa del Suizo on the Napo river in eastern Ecuador. It is a unique resort offering trips to jungle settings and villages. Arrive by boat, climb the considerable steps and incline, and reach a beautiful pool area, with dining and bar facilities. The rooms are quite nice and comfortable.... More

I have a wonderful trip in Ecuador. The scenery was beautiful and the places we visited were interesting and unique. Everything was well organized and went smoothly, and I will definitely recommend this trip to my friends. The thermal springs at Papallacta were amazing. And our activities in the Amazon at La Casa del Suizo made the trip so memorable...... More

When I chose this hotel, it was based upon some positive comments from friends claiming it to be something extra ordinary. Here are the facts: The level of the rooms is very basic ( no Tv, no wifi Internet which is available only around the pool area - for 5$ fee for two hours or 10$ for 5 hours- and... More

Stayed at the resort with Gate 1. My single room had full view of the Napo River and foliage with the porch having a hammock. The food at the buffet was mediocre. Only a few staff members were bilingual. The staff were not highly friendly and accommodating. No wifi.

We stayed here as part as Gate 1 tour. We came to hotel by boat, which was a nice experience. The room I got did not have a view to the river but was spacious and clean. The rooms have hammocks outside which are a nice touch. As in most hotels in Ecuador no A/C. Sometimes during the day was... More

The only way to get here is through a boat. Then you have to climb up a hill to get to the resort. There is a little town behind the resort but its not big. You have all your meals at the resort and they are very good. They have a well stocked bar with friendly bartenders. Our room led... More

This is a full service resort with meals provided. It is not opulent but very comfortable. Rooms have one wall that is screen so folks that want complete privacy with closed windows well not be comfortable. It is a great place for an Amazon experience. Food is good, pool is fantastic, view is wonderful. Easiest way to reach it is... More

Stayed 2 nights. Really nice location on the river. You take a sort of motorized canoe to get to the hotel and then to most of the local destinations. The staff including naturalists was really cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable. Hygiene in the buffet food area was good, all the staff wore gloves and masks. Everyone in our group was healthy... So many things to see and do in the area. Lots of opportunities to see the native plant and wild life, and there is also a wildlife refuge located nearby where you can see a lot of amazing animals up close. The staff of this hotel is top notch and everything about the place is an adventure. Screen enclosed rooms... More
