Wonderful hotel perched on a bluff over looking the Napo river. Rooms are basic but include what you will need. Better bring your own hair dryer however. Comfortable beds face the deck which looks over the river. No a/c but did not need it as overhead fan was more than enough. The wall facing the river is all screened with... More

We stayed here 2 nights in April as part of a Gate 1 Travel tour. I had read many reviews and thought I knew what to expect. The hotel is accessible only by canoe which got overrated very quickly. Upon arrival, from the canoe’s dock it is quite a hike up to the hotel, very difficult carrying heavy bags in... More

Fantastic place! You arrive by boat to climb up to a large enclosure containing thatch covered "huts". Each couple has their own hut with a king size bed and screened window looking onto a porch with a hammock. The rooms are placed so that no other hut can see into your hut. There are no glass windows- just screen, but... More

Part of our Gate 1 holiday included two days at this resort...could have easily stayed more days cause it's a beauty. Arrived at this destination via canoe...how neat is that? Our set lodging was looking out at the Napo river...this was the nicest room and lodging throughout our entire 18 day trip, it was the most remote. Our room had... More

We spent two nights at the Casa del Suizo as part of a Gate1 tour of Ecuador in March 2015. I really had no idea what to expect when we arrived, so it is easy to say that our expectations were exceeded. Our tour bus dropped us alongside the Napo River, where we and our luggage were transported down river... More

Just returned to Casa del Suizo for 3 days of R & R while on a recent trip to Ecuador. This is where you go to experience the jungle in a safe and relaxing way, while sleeping on a soft bed and overlooking the Napo River. Arrive by canoe to lay by the pool or go on a jungle trek,... More

Hotel sits high on a hill above the Napo River. We arrived by boat to see a beautiful group of building with thatched roofs. Our room had no windows, just screens to keep the bugs out, a ceiling fan and a hammock on the patio to relax in...simply heaven. No TV, Radio. The staff was friendly and the service was... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Gate 1 tour. One of the things I appreciated about the Gate 1 tour was their selection of hotels for the itinerary throughout the country. Hacienda Cusin, Termas de Papallacta, La Casa del Suizo, Hacienda Manteles, and Finch Bay Eco-Hotel were not what I would consider luxurious, but they possessed... More

Stayed here for two nights, wished it was at least 4-5 days. The ground is beautiful, flowers blooming everywhere. The room was great, no window, just screens separating the room from the balcony, which made it really nice at night. Food (all buffets) and service were excellent. We also visited the animal rescue center, hiked in the rainforest, and met... More
