I fell in love with this historic piece of America. We stayed at the lodge for 5 nights. We never left the mountain. The first two nights we had a room with one bed at the lodge. I had been warned it was small, with a shower no tub. The room was comfortable with a pretty view. The next three... More

We booked the very last room they had available, it was a queen bed. We weren't picky and we were happy to book a room at all two days before Easter weekend. It was clean, the staff was very friendly and we had a great time! The view from the lodge was gorgeous and perfect for watching the sunset. The... More

Thank you for taking your time to review our site and give us your valuable feedback! Mather Lodge at Petit Jean State Park is a historic site on the National Registrar of Historic Places and was built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, also known as Roosevelt’s “Tree Army”. It is cozy as you describe, but it’s historicity and... More

There's a night and day difference between Mount Magazine State Park and Petit Jean. The cabin at Petit Jean was old and needs a revamp. The cabin felt more like a trailer than a cabin. The bathroom needs an update. The cabin needs wifi. The fireplace was a nice comfort to have during winter. The food at Mather Lodge was... More

We stayed in a room in the lodge with two double beds on the second floor. The bedrooms and bath were roomy enough for the two of us, and the wifi signal was strong throughout the lodge. In early spring, one can't predict the weather too far ahead, and when we arrived we had one sunny day and the other... More

We arrived at the cabin #3 from Mather Lodge - it's a small, cozy, clean cabin complete with 2 queens, a kitchen, and couch. Loved this accommodation, even though we had a great snowfall, and the whole world was one hushed dome of white. Our only recommendation for anyone would be to prepare yourself with breakfast food, as this place... More

This is the third year we have spent New Year's Eve here, and my husband is already trying to book for next NYE. We have stayed in the Lodge, but prefer a fireplace and bit more room. We had cabin #6, and it is the best so far. A little tight in the bedroom, bath and full kitchen, but the... More

The rooms were were extremely small at the lodge but they were clean and served its purpose. Next time we will bring the kids and rent one of the cabins. The bathroom was very tiny. It is very beautiful here and would make a great family camping trip

I love Petit Jean. I requested a room with privacy & quiet. I was given a room at the front of the hall. : / I enjoyed the room, but the noise from other guests made it difficult to relax, read or even sleep! If you want to sleep in, you're out of luck - guests or the loud housekeepers... More

Than you for your review. We are glad you love Petit Jean as much as we do! First and foremost, we are not sure what the situation was that you experienced the AM Desk Manager but with this information we will find out and correct that issue. Being close to the entry way of the lodge, especially on the absolute... More

Mather Lodge - either the cabins or a room in the lodge - is at least a once a year stay. This year, the color was still great in late November, the staff friendly as always, the food terrific, and the cabins warm and cozy. Great views from the lodge looking down into Cedar Creek Canyon and lots of hiking.

Mather Lodge has been here for decades; however, it was recently remodeled. The rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. The mirror is lit well enough for applying makeup. The heater/air conditioner keeps the room at the requested temp. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. The wi-fi worked well even though our room was at the end of the... More
