The 2015 National Collegiate Soil contest was in Monticello in April. I like to have my team of students stay at a VBRO so they have a more relaxinf and friendly environment compared to a hotel, but in a town like Monticello, such a thing does not exist. Through Trip Advisor I saw the UAM Trotter House. And I saw... More

Recently, the house has fallen under new management. Ignore the older reviews. The new management has this house in top condition. It was extremely clean and they went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We would absolutely stay there again!

I love older homes and was very excited about spending the night here instead of a hotel. If you are looking for a super clean and friendly place to stay, then this is NOT the place for you. Staff was not overly friendly and the over all house needed a deep cleaning. Of all of the B&B's I have used... More

while at one time, you can tell this place was pristine and crisp, it was much lacking this time around. the decor has become about the person staying there and not the guests, the kitchen was dirty as well as our room. Hair was in the tub, floor was sticky in the bathroom and while Rebecca is personable, it all... More

I would drive back to Arkansas just to stay at the Trotter House! Rebecca was so incredibly awesome, I find her hard to put into words! We are from the south and asked for grits. She admitted to never making them, but would look them up online! I was in total shock when we can to breakfast the next morning!... More

Pros: Steve the UAM Manager / Inn keeper was both friendly and helpful. The local area is dry so he gave us some great pointers on navigating the system as well as local insights. There was also a small dog that was very well behaved and fun. Cons: The woman who checked us in while not openly hostile seemed a... More

I have stayed in B&B all over the country but this has to be the best and at a very competitive price. A little hard to find location but a real treasure once you are there.

The Trotter House was my first experience at a Bed & Breakfast. My husband booked the Cypress Room for us while on our honeymoon. Our room was very nice, and breakfast the next morning was very enjoyable. We had delicious waffles, fruit, orange juice, and coffee and hot tea - all served on very nice china. We were just passing... More
