We stayed three nights in a spacious triple room with great view onto the sea. The hotel has a good location near the Plaza de Almas and a lot of restaurant, sights and supermarkets are in walking distance. Stayed here for one night in a double room. The building is a bit old, a lot of peeling paint and wallpaper and the doors don't really close properly but it is hard to find somewhere on the island that isn't like that. We were backpacking in Chile and on the look-out for cheap, yet decent accomodation when we arrived in Castro. We checked out a couple of hostels recommended by our travel guide and found them all very awful and pricy. I and a friend stayed at this hostal in Castro in early November. The island of Chiloe is fascinating, and for anyone who wants to discover 'off the beaten track 'Chile is worth going to - especially if you enjoy hiking, cycling and looking at wildlife.
