Funny... WiFi worked great at my $50 hovel, and was slower than snails here! Plus the noise from the karaoke bar is no joke. I slept OK with ear plugs, but the music is quite loud and many rooms face this bar! That said, I got friendly help from the staff and LOVED the pool and JACUZZI! Breakfast is the... More

I stayed there 1 night and I wont never stay there again ever (not even if the hotel give me money for it). The doorman was extremely rude to me and he even grabbed me because he thought I was too young for being in charge of a group and he told me that he knew better about everything because... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hosteria de Castro Isla Chiloe. We found the location very good and the view from the dining room. We had room in the old part so I can not comment on the new wing which have views from the rooms. Our rom looked out on a car park and was rather small... More

This was billed in one of the travel books as the best in Castro. Forget that! We were in the older section of the hotel (the new adjacent building where the indoor pool is located must be a lot nicer...hopefully.) We had a view of the water (room 307) which was nice. We stayed 3 nights...Thursday, Friday and Saturday. No... More

We only stayed 24h, enough to experience two situations that will give you an impression of this "place" I refuse to call hotel... (1) We checked in and found old towels and used tampons in the bathroom. After telling them several times to kindly clean our room, we got the answer that the cleaning staff has checked the room and... More

the public rooms are quite nice with excellent views and the restaurant is more than decent. our room was depressingly small though — bed basically touched three walls. worked for one quick night, but suggest you ask in advance for one of the bigger rooms.

Stayed for one night in a double room after we asked to be switched because the first room was a bit small, especially the bathroom (one of those tiny shower cubicles) and the toilet seat a bit loose (though the toilet seats in both rooms also didn't fit the toilets properly, which personally I find slightly uncomfortable). The staff were... More

After battling our way driving through central Castro in the pouring rain, we eventually negotiated the one way systems and found Hosteria de Castro, perched on the hillside overlooking Castro harbour. Our double suite in the new wing overlooking the harbour was superb. A large, spacious, modern room. . . . absolutely delightful! The bar and restaurant areas are also... More

Great location and friendly staff. As we were there at the end of April I enjoyed sitting in the bar by the fireplace. The suite rooms are the way to go, however a little pricey and we didn't seem to have any heat or hot water on the first night of our stay but that changed by the second night.... More

Having chosen one of the suites at 133 USD per night to spend Christmas was certainly a good deal, as everything pointed to this place being by far the best in Castro. The location is excellent, as the central Plaza is only two blocks away. The lake, on the other hand, is in front of the hotel, which allows great... More
