I stayed there 2 nights and I found the room a little bit dirty and noisy. Staff was nice. Breakfast was nice but nothing excited, I wish they had more local products and better information about things to do.

Reading other reviews, it seems that this place has some problems with managing its bookings. Despite receiving 2 emails from the hostel on the day before our arrival stating that our booking is confirmed, we were told that there is no room available on the day of our arrival in Castro. After searching through the emails at the reception, the... More

Stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fantastic location over the water just like being on a ship. Use of the rowing boat and kayaks was a bonus. Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable the whole house being wood creaks like a ship. The breakfasts are good in a fabulous communal area overlooking the estuary. Claudio... More

First of all, I send an email to inquire about a room and they didnt get back to me at all. So I checked into a different hostel in Castro but still went back there to ask if they have any tours available (they work together with Palafito tours). They let me wait for 30 minutes saying that the guide... More

It's a very attractive spot with a lovely view over the sea inlet and it was fun to be staying in a real palafito, and feel the just-perceptable nudge of the tide as the water comes up. Breakfasts were delicious, especially the home-made bread. The one improvement would be a warmer and more communicative welcome at the reception desk, where... More

Absolutely loved this hostel, and I gather I was quite lucky to get a reservation (via email) the day before. Walking past the array of hostels, cabanas and ajojamientos (many of which looked run down), I was delighted when I arrived to a pristine Palafito with bright, airy and spotlessly clean wooden floors and walls. I was greeted by a... More

This was an adequate if over-priced base for a visit to Castro and the surroundings but it cuts a lot of corners and still charges close to what better value places do so check around first. We got here by mistake (mine) when I tried to book us in a great place we'd stayed in four years earlier Palafito 1326,... More

My husband and I just spent 5 nights there, in a double room with bath and a side view of palofitos and the fjord. It's a pretty place in a nice part of town with beautiful views. The positive: comfortable beds, nice bathroom, good wi fi signal everywhere, spotlessly clean, pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Very nice breakfast. Nice sitting area with... More

This was one of our best stays in Chile. The neighborhood, location, staff, breakfast, and overall feeling were a delight. I particularly liked that the walls were given a slight curve during the remodel, so it felt a bit like being in a boat.

This review is for Patio Palafito, an extension of their hostel. NOT worth the US $120 they charged us at all! A postage stamp sized room , NO BREAKFAST & paper thin walls. When we checked in we were promised breakfast at 7:30AM. By 7:45 I called to reception-in another building-& was given the lame excuse that they FORGOT we... More
