We have been travelling for 4 months and this was the best hostel we have stayed in. It is more like a B&B or hotel as the rooms were excellent. The kitchen was very good, and the breakfast superb. Prices high but we bagged a good deal in the low season. I would recommend this place.

This is a great place, it is clean, cozy and friendly. We loved to stay here, really, the bedrooms, bathrooms and common rooms are pretty cool and the breakfast is great. They clean for you and you get towels, so it is more a Hotel than a hostel. Sadly, prices are in the hotel range too, especially in low season.... More

This hostel is located at a most picturesque area of Castro. Built on stilts, overlooking the sea, with great beds... you must go! One thing that I found a bit funny, though, is the fact that it sways (very slightly) at times, so you'll feel as if you are onboard a ship. Hope you don't mind that. We stayed in... More

The property has a very charming wood interior, great staff, and fantastic views of the water and surrounding countryside. If you don't mind large hills, the hostel is well located to the town square and the surrounding shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this location for couples.

stayed here for one night whilst visiting Castro. loved the setting and was thrilled to have stayed in something seen as a national monument. the furniture was fantastic and added to the spirit of the place. a little bit out of centro but the walk was great and relatively quick. would recommend as the location was also adjacent to one... Warm, clean, decent rooms, and located in a picturesque area. However staff were not particularly friendly, breakfast was fairly average, there was quite a lot of noise from the road at night and it is a bit of a walk into town. Moved to a different place in town after one night.

The hotel is new (although not as new as the Palafito Cucao hostel), and although it is not as charming as the Palafito Cucao, it is nice enough, and the fact that it is an actual palafito is nice. We stayed in one of the two rooms which face the river (the one with the queen bed, the other features... More

What a fun experience to stay in a palafito and see the tide come and go. It was a great central location to explore the island and the staff are very helpful and will help book excursions on the island.

I really loved my stay here at Palafito Hostel. I arrived on a friend's recommendation, thinking I would just spend a night, and ended up staying three because it was such a cozy base for exploring the island. The hostel was clean, warm, and beautifully decorated. Even though Castro itself isn't much to look at, the location of the hostel... More

This place was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was nice and included a variety of things (fruit, yoghurt, porridge, juice, very nice bread, eggs, marmalade...). The shower was the best I've experienced during the 2 months I've been travelling South America! The only faults I would say about this hostel is although the location was very scenic it was... More
