Dear friends, hello. If you happen to travel to Chiloe, the two main cities are Castro and Ancud. In Ancud most of the travel guides indicate this hotel as the best one and a very confortable one.. Well, it might have been true in the 70' or 80', judging from the age of the decor, but not now. It is... More

This beautiful old hotel was apparently constructed by ship builders. The open beams and framing style are unique. Floors are planked. The views from the upper dining area overlooking the channel are beautiful. Rooms were relatively small, and they line up on a corridor that faced town. Views from room windows were of the closeby hotel grounds. The hotel sits... More

This hotel area (old fort) is preserved as a historical site. Entrance is great as is reception, dining area, bar and the views from the garden with beautiful pieces of art. But once one gets past the lobby, wow! Hallway and room carpets have not been cleaned or shampooed for a long time. They are falling apart. Keys are perforated... More

Traveling with OAT and staying at this hotel for 2 nights was a rewarding experience. With my experience I can best describe this hotel to my fellow USA travelers as staying at one of the National Parks in the USA. The rooms are basic, smaller than modern hotels, but very warming log or log appearing construction. We had two brkfst... More

We stayed two nights here. The public spaces are very nice with good views over the water. However, the double room was so small we could hardly move. There was nearly no room for a modest amount of luggage. The first night we had no hot water, but it was fixed the next day. The second night there was a... More

This hotel is not really ready for tourists yet, or at least tourists with too much luggage! The public rooms are nice and roomy, as is the restaurant. But the guest rooms are very small and somewhat shabby. Carpets in the hallways need to be replaced, they're dirty and torn in places. But you're not here to hang in your... More

This small town doesn't have much in the way of lodging.....and this is probably as good as it gets. The location is GREAT for views over the sea from the terraces, but hotel is up a very steep hill and its a many blocks into town to pick up snacks/water if you're walking. However, you are probably not in Ancud... More

This is a nice cozy hotel with a fire place. People like to sit around it, have a drink and talk. It has a nice terrace and view. We had a very nice seafood dinner here. Rooms are small and people with huge luggage had somewhat of a problem.

The people behind the desk were very poor. It would seem that this is not a private enterprise because it is so poorly run.Luckily we were able to get the services we needed at a local hostel. Breakfast on both mornings of our stay was a haphazard affair where we had to run around looking for cutlery ,delph and food.... More

I and my wife were at this charming rustic hotel for 2 nights as a part of a group tour. The location is just fascinating wonderful with sprawling views of the adjacent sea. There was a wood burning fireplace that was warm and inviting in addition to creating a nice ambiance. The lobby as well as the restaurant is built... More
