After driving three hours and not satisfied with the hotel we previously booked and unable to find anything else, we came across this hotel. We asked the owner if there were any rooms available and he said yes. After viewing the room and paying over $100.00, which is too much considering there was no hot water, TV , ceiling fan,... More

I do not know how the hotel has this many stars. Management is clearly behind these good reviews. We paid over 128 dollars (one night stay) for a dumpy experience. We arrived at about 7pm, and waited over an hour for the room to be prepared. We went to the restaurant and sat down, but after we looked at the... More

Dear Sir, yes, it is true, your room had a small problem in the electricity brake so air conditioner and hot water boiler stopped to work. But you was so stupid to wait till the morning instead of alert us immediately. We had one more room availble to solve your problem in few minutes. When I met you the next... More

Bad service, bad and expensive food, only one waiter for 50 people, one tiny air conditioner for a big room. rooms are ok to stay the night but no more. You can try other near by hotels in the area for the same price and expect better service.

Hi Juan, our rooms are among the best in the whole Barahona and the it is enough to look at the tons of photos available online. You are writing bad comments everywhere about our hotel just because we were fully booked and there were any table for your majesty in the restaurant. Because you are not better than other clients... This property has a beautiful location above cliffs looking out to sea. But there the charm ends. Our group arrived after dark and chaos ensued as the staff moved us from room to room to find the right configuration of beds. Large bare rooms were comfortable but a bit bleak, not helped by the occasional mosquito. It was in the... More

We stayed there during Christmas week because it was the last hotel in the area that could provide us with two rooms for the weekend. Others clearly already knew that the price/quality ratio was off. We had all sort of problems, mostly things (including air conditioning) that were not working when we entered the room. The restaurant was slow even... More

Clean , beautiful view , the rooms very clean, the personal are very friendly and kind. Has a pool but no water, no problem because we use the deck for bbq at night and it was very romantic. The accepted credit card so that is a plus also. The breakfast mangu with eggs was delicious.

Excellent location for a private getaway for 2. Not much development in this part of the island so you can definitely find some peace and quiet. Beautiful pristine beaches a few minutes walk away. They were renovating while we were there but they were able to accommodate us very well. From there you can book tours to Cabo Rojo, Lago... More

The hotel is in a quiet location about 10 km west of Barahona. It has its charms. It is a quaint location with a cliff side view of the sea. The beach area is a walk down the cliff and to the west about a quarter to a half km distance. The ample size restaurant has a view of the... More

Hotel El Quemaito is a nice choice for those looking for the unconventional. The hotel is in a small town called Juan Esteban, far away from tusistic sights. It's perfect for people looking for something more natural and unsophisticated, very different from the extravagances we may find in Punta Cana, Bavaro or Puerto Plata. There are some construction going on... More

We were at El Quemaito for three nights a few weeks ago. The rooms are comfortable, the grounds immaculate, and the views gorgeous. Very nice pool but we were out most of the time and didn't get to use it. Our rooms had A/C, which worked well. We chose this hotel based on location, rates, and more importantly, on our... More
