Bad service, bad and expensive food, only one waiter for 50 people, one tiny air conditioner for a big room. rooms are ok to stay the night but no more. You can try other near by hotels in the area for the same price and expect better service.

This property has a beautiful location above cliffs looking out to sea. But there the charm ends. Our group arrived after dark and chaos ensued as the staff moved us from room to room to find the right configuration of beds. Large bare rooms were comfortable but a bit bleak, not helped by the occasional mosquito. It was in the... More

We stayed there during Christmas week because it was the last hotel in the area that could provide us with two rooms for the weekend. Others clearly already knew that the price/quality ratio was off. We had all sort of problems, mostly things (including air conditioning) that were not working when we entered the room. The restaurant was slow even... More

Clean , beautiful view , the rooms very clean, the personal are very friendly and kind. Has a pool but no water, no problem because we use the deck for bbq at night and it was very romantic. The accepted credit card so that is a plus also. The breakfast mangu with eggs was delicious.

Dear Karla, thank you very much for your kindly review! It is always a pleasure to meet guest who could share with us the amazing concept of the Hotel El Quemaito. We are very happy to read you felt romantic because this is exactly the goal we are trying to reach and improve day by day. The swimming pool was... More

Excellent location for a private getaway for 2. Not much development in this part of the island so you can definitely find some peace and quiet. Beautiful pristine beaches a few minutes walk away. They were renovating while we were there but they were able to accommodate us very well. From there you can book tours to Cabo Rojo, Lago... More

The hotel is in a quiet location about 10 km west of Barahona. It has its charms. It is a quaint location with a cliff side view of the sea. The beach area is a walk down the cliff and to the west about a quarter to a half km distance. The ample size restaurant has a view of the... More

Hotel El Quemaito is a nice choice for those looking for the unconventional. The hotel is in a small town called Juan Esteban, far away from tusistic sights. It's perfect for people looking for something more natural and unsophisticated, very different from the extravagances we may find in Punta Cana, Bavaro or Puerto Plata. There are some construction going on... More

We were at El Quemaito for three nights a few weeks ago. The rooms are comfortable, the grounds immaculate, and the views gorgeous. Very nice pool but we were out most of the time and didn't get to use it. Our rooms had A/C, which worked well. We chose this hotel based on location, rates, and more importantly, on our... More

We had a birding group of 10 who stayed 4 nights in November. The location on the coast is beautiful, although there is no access to the beach. The property is being remodeled, but they were able to accommodate us fairly well. Unfortunately, despite being located near the center of the best birding area and having hosted groups before, it... Dear Sir, thank you very much for your stay at our hotel and we are working on your suggestions. As you alredy put in evidence, the hotel is currently under major renovation and the new rooms we alredy completed are at very high level and we opened them to couple of guests. We are fixing, room by room, all the... More

Our (2 doubles & 1 single) room in the top block with en-suite (shower) bathroom, air-con, fan and cable TV was comfortable and could sleep 5, even though there were only 3 of us. As we were only staying one night (US$104 incl. breakfast & taxes) and would be out for most of the day, it was adequate. There were... More
