We stayed 2different nights on a week long trip around the southwest. It was a great location very centrally placed. We saw all the sights and loved this hotel. It was very reasonably priced compared to where we stayed in Paraiso and the staff just made the experience wonderful. They were so helpful and the food was great. They even... More

This hotel is comfortable, can accommodate groups of many sizes, has delicious food that can also be accommodated to most dietary restrictions and the staff is friendly and helpful. They always take great care of their guests and are considerate towards their needs. If there is ever an issue or concern they are quick to respond. The location is stunning... More

El Quemaito is a beautiful, calm, safe spot to take in gorgeous views of pebble beaches, cliffs and the endless roar of the waves. We came with a group of 20 people, and were attended too kindly by the wonderful staff. The food was delicious and the dining-room big enough to suit our needs. The rooms varied in shapes, sizes... The grounds of the El Quemaito are stunning- a terraced property with beautiful gardens, a refreshing pool, and views dominated by the Caribbean Ocean. Gaetano, the proprietor, recently took the place over and he is still working out some of the kinks and figuring things out- upgrades, modernization, aesthetic improvements. Having said that, we had a lovely time and it... More

It's located in a spectacular spot, overlooking the ocean. The grounds are beautiful surrounded by tropical plants. It has a great swimming pool. The rooms lack charm. Internet service goes on and off as well as electricity in the evening. The service is slow and unprofessional. The restaurant was overpriced and the portions were minimal. El Quemaito is a hotel... The two of us and our guide spent two nights here during a birdwatching tour, and had one dinner at the hotel. (The other in town at the seaside "Brisas del Caraibe.") The rooms we saw were large and quite comfortable; the restaurant is styled in European rustic-simple decor (the first owner was Swiss and the property is owned by... More

Dear Paul, we are very sorry about what happened with electricity but things are now changing. Starting on December 22, 2013 we are very proud to announce the Hotel El Quemaito has now a new italian management and ownership. Great improvements are scheduled starting on next January, like additional solar boilers for hot water, new silent electric generator to have... More

Stayed for 3 nights, very nice. Excellent service. Not a huge menu but food was very good. More than helpful with information on trips and sights to see in the area. Pool was very nice to cool off in at the end of the day. Would stay here again.

So far I have had the chance to go there for work reasons only. Yet I love this place. You can come here and forget about the world. The staff is wonderful, the food is awesome. The environment is so quiet, the sound of the waves so soothing. It's like paradise. No TV, and there is internet only in a... More

Not sure what others are expecting when they go on vacation but I loved this place. Very relaxing, rooms are clean and the best part is that you are left alone to relax, no staff on top of you trying to over please like at many resorts. They can expand their menu options but food was very good. Highly recommend... More

My wife and I just finished a birding trip to the Dominican Republic. We stayed two nights at Quemaito to reach the south slope of Sierra de Bahoruco and other southwest DR sites. The room was clean and the AC worked well. The service was good. Food was pretty good. I had stuffed sea bass with mashed potatoes both nights... More
