Great views and easy access to Barahona. Food is amazing, and owners were responsive to room issues. Internet quality poor, but great excuse to be off the grid. Recommend for an off the beaten track resort.

... unfortunately there were cockroaches in our room. We asked at the reception to change the room but they gave us a bug/insect spray and only after complaining again we could change the room which was also full of cockroaches. This is not acceptable! The worst is that the management gave us only a discount of 5 % for the...

- No electricity half of the time
- Restaurant bill(s) accumulated over a few days (to pay at check out) contained various items that were not consumed, or different (higher priced) items
- Hotel staff steals (in my case from the laundry). Management knows about it but don't seem to care. This is probably a way of remunerating the staff....

My husband just came back from Playa Azul and says the ocean was incredible beautiful and that the hotel Playa Azul is very quiet and comfortable. Familiar place and good stay. Fresh fish and good wine too. He will be back soon and I look forward to be there soon. Amelia

The people who own and run it are not very friendly or helpful and the exchange rate if you pay in dollars is terrible (36 when everywhere else is 38 or 39). I loved...

Karen and Sylvain are great hosts and entertained my wife at night on the domino board :) Helpful to know some Spanish or French but this applies to the region and not just Playazul. The breakfast was very...
