Stayed at Loma Real on the final few days of a tour of southeastern and southern Mexico. From Tapachula we visited various coffee plantations ("fincas") and cattle ranches ("ranchos") which were less than an hour away. En route, we also saw banana, cacao, mango, papaya and sugar plantations. Plus, the natural tropical vegetation. A very beautiful area. The hotel is... more

The Loma Real isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, the staff was helpful, and the restaurant was surprisingly good. I’d stay here again if I ever go back to Tapachula. more

The Loma Real is no longer a Travel Lodge. I tried booking through Travelodge and they had no listing of it. After we arrived I found this number in the hotel room for booking: [---]. We showed up without reservations and were welcomed. The hotel is a little run down but I think that it is a common effect of... more
