I stayed in Marlon twice, and both times I was impressed by how clean it was. The staff is friendly, and the food at their restaurant is really good. The restaurant in the main hotel is open for dinner, but Cocoa, their associated restaurant across the street, has great breakfast at a good price. The first hotel room I stayed... More

Chetumal is probably not one of the highligts of the Yucatan peninsula - in my case it was a necessary stopover between the rather underwhelming bacpacker ghetto of Tulum and the beautiful islands of Belize. Hotel Marlon is actually a good reflection of the city as a whole: nothing special, slightly ramshackle but somehow likeable. It's an oldish building in... More

The hotel is clean and the airconditioning works. Just staying here as part of a tour. Not sure if this is a good location as our tour group left early in the morning. No Elevator which means you have to carry your bags up stairs. It had just rained so tiles were slippery. Not a good combination!

Nice big bed and efficient if noisy aircon. Well situated near the port for onward transit The reception is a bit dopey but they do have a safety box At 575 I thought reasonable. LPs cheapo suggestion of the hotel UCUM looked awful

We stayed here when it fist opened about 5 years ago and it was nice. We stayed there 2 or 3 times since and each time it looked more tired and the staff was less interested in helping. I said the last time I was there I would not go back but I found myself back there yesterday and it... More

On arrival, when comparing this hotel to its far grander cousin across the road, I have to admit to being sceptical. There was no need. The beds are comfortable, the room is as large as we need. The bathroom is clean and modern. The pool is lovely, as is the courtyard. The restaurant (and wait staff) is fabulous. There is... More

After a long drive finding a clean hotel was all we needed - and indeed Marlon is clean, beds comfortable, bathroom large and fully equipped. We had a dinner at their hotel restaurant and the food was really fine. But the elevator was out of service and we had a lot of the luggage... Nobody helped us. When we checked... More

Actually May 2010, after a drive up from Sarteneja, Belize this was a welcome respite. It was very clean, family friendly, with a restaurant attached, however when we were there it was closed and we ate at the sister restaurant Grand Marlon across the street. The rooms were comfortable and it was easy to find.

Stayed at Hotel Marlon for a stopover one night whilst on our way to Belize. Hotel was average, but there were certainly no complaints. Room was large, basic and clean, with a comfortable bed - along with a balcony and efficient air-conditioning. Arrived late evening and then left early morning - did not encounter enough staff to make a comment... More
