No one will go to Chetumal for travel. Usually overnight on the way from/to Belize. Hotel Ucum is right for that purpose: cheap(P240 with a bath) and safe. Clean and spacious though spartan. Wifi was tricky: could not connect though the signal was there. It is centrally located just a few steps from a Market and the Museum of Maya... More

Hotel was ok, rooms were clean but we had to ask for towels several times, when we got them they were torn and old. They had a pool which was a plus but their bathroom out dated. For one night ok but not longer

I have been staying here when I am in Chetumal for about 8 years. It's not fancy but it is centrally located by the museum, has courtyard parking, it's clean and isn't expensive. It is now painted a nasty dark green which makes it not very attractive. There is a pool but have never seen anybody in it. It's one... More

The worst hotel I stayed in during a six week trip to Mexico. Rooms are big and clean enough but look like prison cells, swimming pool, just really depressing. I would not recommend it all ....courtyard is horrible, staff miserable, wifi terrible.

We arrived late without much local currency. They would not take dollars from belize, so they said we could pay them in the morning. That was very good of the front desk to do that. Very decent and trusting. We ran to a cash machine and paid an hour later with pesos. A major plus to them for that. The... More

We stayed here for three nights before we left Mexico for Belize. We'd recommend Ucum for anyone travelling on a budget. The rooms are basic but clean, daily housekeeping and clean sheets, helpful staff and excellent location right in the centre of town (less than 5 minute walk from the bus station). We paid 240 Pesos a night for a... More

Located in the west end of the main street of Chetumal Hotel Ucum is a good choice for the budget traveler. Near food stores, the marcado, and the Maya museum the location is very convenient. As with most things in Chetumal a taxi ride is needed if arriving by bus from the ADO station. (aprox 50 pesos). The security is... More

During this leg of my travels, I had a companion which made options like Ucum a possibility. We split the price of a room and were able to stay away from the backpacker and tourist crowd. We loved this! It allowed us to actually speak with some locals and wander the streets without a barrage of other tourists. I know,... More

We had to stay in Chetumal due to an overbooked ferry to Caye Caulker and was recommended this place by the cab driver. We got a simple private room with a bathroom and it was fine. Very basic but at least pretty clean. The desk people didnt really have too much to offer but they were fine. They do have... More

It's not the perfect place but it's cheap, comfortable and it has hot and cold private bath with air conditioning, they didn't speak English but it was ok. They even have a pool and it's in the center and close to the market. All this for so little, I felt like I was getting away, if anyone wants to complain... More
