I can't really describe adequately what an experience this hotel was. Gorgeous setting in the forest overlooking the Mekong River valley with the mountains of Laos in the background. Went onto our balcony sofa at sunrise to watch the slowly brightening skies and mist curling above the river, while listening to the trumpeting of the elephants as they were starting... More

After paying over 500 GBP for three nights for a standard room I was expecting to get the WOW factor but instead we got a standard 4 star hotel which was "okay" but nothing special. The staff were lovely and very friendly but thats about it. The stairs leading to the room were dirty and the room was just ok... More

This lovely property although a bit secluded from the rest of Chiang Rai, is a hidden gem if you are looking to a little peace and quiet. This was the next stop on our journey through Thailand and was probably the most memorable. The hotel picked us up from Chiang Mai and drove us to this beautiful paradise very comfortably.... More

Have just spend 3 nights at the Anantara. Staff were lovely and very efficient. Pool was great but on the cold side. Only did an elephant trek while we were there which was a bit hair raising but good fun. Watched them bathing in the river. Very peaceful location after all the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Maybe should have... More

The Anantara was the best part of our trip to Thailand and Cambodia. We loved everything, the decorations (especially at nights) the gym, the restaurant, the pool, the staff. Even saw a sunrise over LAOS right form our balcony. We loved the mahout training especially. I could not believe how kind the elephants were and it was lovely to see... More

Amazing hotel, a but tired in the bathroom, but really nice and quite overall. Mahout training is a must! You get so close and intimate with your elephant, great experience! Everybody at the hotel is smiling, tries to do their best to help you to enjoy your time. Food is really really good, on the expensive side, but worth every... More

Spent three days here after taking a Mekong riverboat from Luang Prabang to Chiang Khong, where the hotel had a driver to meet us - and it was heaven; a cool aircon car, chilled water and cold towels. In fact we spent a day with 'luxury shock' it was so nice after out travels in Laos. And this is a... More

Spent 6 wonderful nights at the Anantara. Every member of staff did everything possible to make our stay special from the lady who cleaned the room showing us how to fold towels into elephants and swans to informal Thai lessons in the bar. The Elephant camp was one of the reasons we chose this hotel and it did not disappoint.... More

Five star through and through - the rooms were beautiful, the food exceptional, the servcie impeccable and the baby elephants visiting at breakfast time a wonderful bonus. The small touches made a big difference such as being given complimentary juice and fruit when relaxing by the pool. This is a perfect place to relax, or if you are feeling more... More

This was the second destination from our Honeymoon in Thailand. We came from Bangkok and what a difference just over an hours flight can make! This Hotel is beautiful. I loved it. We flew into Chang Mai which is a four hour connection by car to Chang Rai. The connection was fine and the pick up staff were really friendly.... More
