Upon arrival we had very mixed feelings. No help with luggage, we parked on the street outside as we did not see anywhere else to park, then we were shown to our room which was very nice, lovely views, big spa bath, great view. We went down to the restaurant for dinner and we were the only people there, but... More

We were initially torn between this hotel and the Serene in Sob Ruak (aka the Golden Triangle). On paper they seemed identical, as both are multi-storey 3-star affairs boasting river views. Moreover, not only do they each have their own pool, but both seemed remotely located outside of town. In hindsight it really shouldn't have been so difficult a choice.... More

Most of the accomodations in Chiang Saen seem to be a little bit strange, if you read the reviews anyway. So we needed a lot of time to decide where to live. The decision on this hotel was quite right. We got a special price because it was winter and not much tourists in the area and had a beautiful,... More

Our third vacation in Chiang Saen and our best hotel in Chiang Saen. We booked 3 nights in a deluxe room (river view) for 1.550bt/night, including breakfast at hotels2thailand.com (pay in advance). Same rooms at Agoda or Booking.com are much more expensive, almost double my price. This 2 years new hotel has been built on the Mekong river bank, 50... More

We stayed one night in this hotel at the end of our 4 days bike tour between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. I was very happy to find a clean modern hotel with nice big rooms, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms with all amenities ( bathtub, shower and toilet). Free wifi is provided everywhere and quite good. The other guests of... More

You MUST have a riverside room in order to experience the sunrise. Only four rooms occupied when we were there in September 2013 on a Tuesday night, and it cost 1600 baht for three (well worth it). The breakfast was great, I particularly remember the brewed coffee. Much fruit, cereals, rice porridge/soup which I was told was excellent, sweets, various... More

An impersonal hotel in a lovely location which could do with a complete make-over and competent staff having previous experience in hôtels. Drinks outside were offered without a tray. A bottle of Perrier plonked on the table but without a glass. Dinner was ordered but no napkins, nor salt and pepper, were forthcoming. In the rooms the generator on the... More

we stayed here because we got a deal and if we had to pay full price i would have been very angry! the fountain in the reception area was never turned on while we were there which gave the place a dead air. there were at least 3 employees at any given time sitting around doing nothing and one was... We stayed here for one night after going to the Golden Triangle. The hotel is not as centrally located as some of the others, it was a good 15 minute walk south from the bus station in the center of town. The room was fantastic, they upgraded us to a river view at check-in. In the evening, we headed back... More

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. What I notice is that English proficiency is now good and service very good. The location on the river is wonderful. Being quiet, it's for clientele wishing to escape the rat race. You need to arrange transport to go to the city or use their bicycles. One strange feature is the... More
