this was my worst travel experience. First of all at the reception no one could speak English. I came on 25 of June and pool was not working. She told me that it works only in summer. Maybe 25 of June is not summer yet but it didn't look like it was to work in just few days to July.... More

Air con was turned off advised to open balcony door and given a mosquito plug in killer. I asked twice for a fan and ended up taking one from the lobby. Bathroom was dirty, one light would not turn off in the room as main light switch did not work. TV did not work. Plastic sheets on mattress .Thank goodness... More

From outside you think you have reached a 5* hotel but the air conditioning did not work and was never going to work, so we were told. We were on the 9th floor and had to open the windows, there is no money exchange despite the list of rates at the reception. We tried to order off the a la... More

This hotel has everything going for it. Fantastic views of with the sun rising from the sea and Seoraksan on the other side. A beautiful building as far as modern Korean buildings go. A great location in terms of seeing the North East coast, the DMZ and Seoraksan. But whoever manages this place is either a gangster using the property... More

Adjacent to the turn off at Sunrise Park to Soerak Park, and midway between Sokcho and the park, this hotel perched on a hill overlooking the sea, is built on the grand scale, with a huge echoing marble entrance lobby, and at the end of the winter season, very few guests. There is a little of The Shining in this... More

The rooms are small and average looking. Bathroom was spacious and clean. We went with a hotel group so we weren't able to go out and discover the area. The front has a great sea view. Lobby is also very Victorian in interior and inviting. We stayed at this hotel one night and had a problem with the air-conditioning. Somehow... More

We stayed at the Maremons Hotel in Sokcho on Monday evening. The hotel is conveniently located across the road from many seafood restaurants and only a few minutes by bus to the Seorak Mountain. We had a sea view room and were able to watch the sun rise from our balcony, which absolutely beautiful. Easy to get to, lots to... More

The hotel lobby was impressive because of the elegant living room set. However, the room was dimly lit and there was no luggage caddy to facilitate unpacking. It was inconvenient to be picking items from the luggage that was sprawled open on the floor specially since the light was inadequate to be able to identify easily what you were looking... More

As part of our UNESCO world heritage tour (highly recommended) we stayed here on our way up to th DMZ on the east coast. This hotel is just ok. Not great, not terrible, just ok. It is in need of upgrades of all facilities. If you are staying briefly on your way to a sightseeing tour or another location, you'll... More
