We are a party of 6 friends. After a long and tiring: Train ride (Gyeongju to Seoul - 2.5 hours) - KWR 37.400 Bus ride (Dong Seoul to Sokcho - 3 hours)), - KWR 17,300 Taxi (Sokcho bus terminal to KSH - 25 mins) - KWR 15,400 we arrived at KSH and was happily surprised to be greeted by cheery... This is the place to be when enjoying Seoraksan Park. The property is beautifully located at the entrance to the park, putting you in a great position to take the sensational hikes to the Biryeong waterfall or the Ulsanbawi rock formation. The hotel itself is just like an old British museum, quaint, but old. The staff is nothing short of... More

This hotel is part of a small Korean chain of hotels. All things considered ie small community, language and cultural barriers the hotel is quite good. On a North American standard scale it is a 3 star facility with 4 star service. The hotel is starting to age but reasonably well kept up and the themes of movie stars England... More

I'm a native Korean. I stayed Kensington Stars Hotel for one night in the busiest season. I didn't check the reviews in tripadvisor before booking. Many of reviews, either good one or bad, contain mixed messages. In short, I totally agree on many reviews saying that location is one of the best to visit Mt. Seorak. Staffs are kind. However,... We enjoyed our stay here, even though on the night of our arrival, we had to change rooms twice. The first time due to an internet booking that had accidentally given us a room too small for us three. The second time because one of the curtains fell down (both rooms were very old and stuffy). We then got a... More

The location is the only positive thing about Kensington Stars. It is only a 5 minute walk to Seorak Mountain. Everything else about this place is sadly overpriced and disappointing. Charging what is equivalent to a Grange Hyatt in Seoul one would expect at minimum a clean and comfortable room. The room we received (a Deluxe), is dated, has a... More

Too bad an experience. I'm particularly concerned about the cancellation fee for any of my bookings online so I will check very carefully about all related policies or conditions before proceeding to make booking. For this one, under "Booking condition", it is read as "Any cancellation received within 7 days prior to arrival date will incur the first night charge.... More

Location wise, this hotel is the closest you can get to the entrance of Mt. Seorak. The hotel is definitely a 5 star hotel and probably the best in the area. Staff are friendly and speak good English. Room is spacious and the toiletries are nice (verbena fragrance). Very limited choice of food unfortunately when I was there though there... More

The reception staff dress as Beefeater guards, which is really all you need to know about a place. We stayed here for its convenient location to Seoraksan National Park with its beautiful hiking and really enjoyed the hotel's quirky British ambience. The staff were wonderfully friendly, as with almost everywhere we stayed in Korea, and the room was warm and... More

I give this hotel a 4 because of the location otherwise i would give it a 3. The room was pricey and average compared to American standard hotels. We booked our room through expedia for 3 adults and when we got here they tried to say no they only had a room for 2 adults after much conversation they upgraded... More
