We stayed at Amaranth Hotel from 19 to 21st Dec 2014 for two nights and booked through Agoda. Taxi drivers still know the place as Ritzcal so it would be best to show them a piece of paper with the name and address of the hotel written in Hangeul. We arrived at about 10pm and was immediately shown to our... More

had to book this hotel as only one with an English language website in the area. It's a $5 taxi ride out of town half way to the mountains. Clean and very warm in winter it has a pleasant feel to it and a very helpful man on the front desk who speaks good English.

The hotel lies far from both Sokcho and Seoraksan National Park. Please consider paying up to 20 USD more for the taxi service from bus station to hotel and then to the mountain. Bus route #3 is not convenient and runs irregularly. Other than that the stay was really pleasant. We took the room in Korean style to try it,... More

Although not fancy, at less than $50 a night, it is a great value. The rooms are spotless. The service was great. It is a $5.00 taxi ride to the market place. It is on the way to Sorak park. The only negative-- there are no separate smoking/non-smoking rooms. We were there during the week, so they let us check... More

We stayed here for 2 nights for less than a couple of hundred US. The rooms were large, had lots of light were quiet and well equipped. They have a guest laundry, lots drinking water etc. Staff speak basic English. It's in a good location for a taxi to the park. There is one Korean restaurant 200m down the road... More

This is a great little hotel. The room has everything that you could want. Tea & coffee facilities, fridge, bathroom supplies, lovely view. Restaurant on site and a cafe over the road. Price was VERY reasonable. Free Wifi in the room. There was no power point next to the bed for my CPAP machine at night so the staff lent... More
