The Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort is well run, the food is quite good, the pool is excellent. WiFi is poor and the resort uses way too much bug spray. Considering where we were in the world the resort was a very good value.

We had 2 nights here, and the location really makes the place. Our river view room was perhaps a bit further from the river than we might have liked, but we could see it! The room however was quite disappointing, small and hardly anywhere to unpack clothes. A small hanging area reminiscent of Travelodge, but no drawers or shelving to... More

Bagan is wonderful but the Thiripyitsaya was a major disappointment. The riverside location has such potential that - if I were the owner - I would bite the bullet, raze all the rooms and start again. The grand-looking entrance gives a very misleading impression of the chalet-type accommodation beyond. Having read the Tripadvisor reviews before booking, our expectations weren't high... More

This Resort is located in the Bagan Archaeological Zone and is beautifully sited. The grounds, room, and public areas are well done. The service and food at this hotel needs to be improved. Something personal was missing.

A very well built spacious hotel. Marvellous pool, which is needed in the heat of March. The food is good, although the snack/ lunch/room service menu is very limited ,especially if you do not want fried food.

As noted in earlier reviews, this is a different place if you get one of the bad rooms... we didn't. We has a garden view room which is the least expensive of the good rooms. It was more than adequate. It just didn't face the river which was no big deal to us The grounds are beautiful. Lots of water... More

The hotel is composed of a number of different buildings sitting around a large central garden area with pool. Our room was on the second floor of a two story building of deluxe river view rooms. The room was really quite large with a sitting area and flat screen TV. The bathroom was also large, with an enclosed toilet and... More

Unfortunately, not so many good hotels in Bagan. Better say not a single one. At the same time Bagan is so beautiful and amazing that you simply must come there visiting Myanmar and need to stay over a night or two somewhere. There are some better places like Tharabar Gate or Aureum, but if you come for New Year like... More

We were very pleased with our accommodation, which was one unit of a single level, four unit stand alone rustic "cabin" type building. We had a very good view of the river and the grounds, which were spectacular. Apparently not all of the rooms at this resort hotel are as good as we had, which we learned from reading other... More

The hotel grounds are wonderful, the swimming pool, the restaurant, the reception and lobby are very beautiful and with good taste. The staff is very nice and helpul. Breafast was excelent. The only problem was the really bad rooms. We booked deluxe rooms pagoda view and I can not belive those rooms were deluxe... and not worth 130 USD/day!!!! Depressing!!!!... More
