When I arrived I was given an economy room. The room was dreary, dark, damp and covered in wooden paneling. I was told this was the room I paid for and that's what was available for me. I did not realize an economy room would make me feel as if I was standing in avacado green pile carpeting. Yuck. After... More

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay here. I thought it would be a bit run down and overcrowded with travelers, but it was rather quiet and peaceful. The room we stayed in (1015) had a view of a nearby temple and was further away from the restaurant and bar, so we didn't hear many people. The room itself was... More

We visited the Thande Hotel for lunch. This was one of the hotels we looked at on a Trip Advisor and so we were curious to see it. The lady at the reservation desk was very nice. She showed us the various rooms. The ones by the river were a bit pricey but very nice. We went to their outdoor... More

I stayed here for two nights. I stayed in the "superior bungalow room" in a two-storey building which was very comfortable despite not having a garden/river view. The view of the river from the bar/restaurant was very nice however and I imagine that a riverside room would be very lovely if one spends more time in the hotel in the... More

It was a very satisfying stay. The landscape was nice, location was perfect to visit around the famous city. Value is somewhat expensive though for the rainy season we went in. Other than that, would not hesitate recommending to those who wish to explore this remarkable place!

Located in a quiet area, this hotel owns many large and old trees. That makes it familiar with natural environment. It was a Deluxe Room with Irrawaddy River View, really nice and fantastic view. There was a piece of Thanaka in room, and I liked it. Nice decoration inside and also outside of room.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel but can't really comment on value for money as we stayed here as part of an organised tour and didn't book the room ourselves. The hotel is in a lovely location overlooking the Irrawaddy river and is a lovely place to sit and watch the river slide by in the evening with... More

The breakfasts under the huge tree on the river side were wonderful. The staff helped organize drivers for the day's trip to see many of the Bagan Temples. U.S. $40 for a whole day. We had massages on two occasion in the spa. Very reasonable & well done

Ok, first off, when looking for your Bagan lodgings you'll find you have three choices- Nyaung U to the north, New Bagan to the south, and Old Bagan. How to choose? Depends on what you want out of your stay. Nyaung U is where you'll find the backpacker atmosphere- lots of ( relatively ) cheap rooms, lots of cheap restaurants,... More
