Stayed here for 1 night with my girlfriend on our first night in Bagan. We had decided to stay in "Old Bagan" to be close to the main attractions but had not realised that one of these would be the spectacular views from Thande's outdoor restaurant. On arrival we were greeted by the delightful manager and shown to our room.... More

Thande Bagan is on the banks of the Ayeyarwady river and is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. The room we had was spacious and clean. The bathroom was large. The swimming pool was nice although a bit noisy when we went as there were lots of children. The restaurant is good, particularly the Thai beef salad, the chicken salad and... More

The large well-kept grounds, pool, and public spaces at the historic Thande Bagan are it's strongest features. It was a real oasis from the hot, dry surroundings in Burmese summer (May). That along with a very competent and very helpful manager (Burmese-Thai who speaks excellent English and Thai in addition to Burmese). I think the hotel restaurant is the best... More

This place was colonial heaven, the room we shared, with own balcony in secluded garden, colonial paradise, food fantastic, £75 for room shared. staff a delight, grounds/the garden of Eden. The hotel next door worth a sunset drink too, could have spend a whole month in heaven. So much more to tell, have to ask me. The elections bring unrest... More

It is lovely hotel. You can stay in a bungalow facing the green garden or the river. Every morning you will hear chirping birds, then many squirrels jump from tree to tree. The room is clean. Although it is an old hotel, but they maintain it well. The food for breakfast is great. Wifi is good. Sometimes you may watch... More

I traveled with a female friend and arrived at the Thande Hotel Bagan at around 5am in the morning, and given that its an off-peak season, they actually allow us to check in early so we could get some rest. We are very, very thankful for that. The room is spacious, clean but on the first night, there was hot... More

The room are great, nice bed and comfy pillows. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There are few bike booth just outside the hotel, if the hotel ran out of bikes, transport is not a problem. The minibar in our room was not working, so they replace a new mini-fridge for us as soon as we called. The breakfast... More

Maybe the best thing about the Thande is the great location: You can easily go by bike to most of the famous pagodas and afterwards you can enjoy a cool drink at the garden bar down by the Irrawady river watching the sunset. What a stunning view! We had a room in one of the two storey buildings at the... More

At one time this may have been an absolutely splendid hotel (dates-back to 1922) but, in many ways, time has passed it-by and it's definitely NOT a US$150 per night hotel. It's got the views of the Irrawaddy River and good a la carte food (buffet breakfast not great) but apart from that ..... Our river view room was from... More
