This could be an excellent hotel but it lets itself down badly. Our room in the new block and upstairs has a fantastic view and was a good size, however the pros stop there. The air con is poor and takes hours to cool the room even a little and never reached an acceptable temperature. We stayed three days and... More

This is a good place with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Food was very nice and prices are low. Wifi available, but very slow. Place situated close to the old Bagan and therefore easy to travel.

We spent more time here than planned (4 nights) due to food poisoning from Sunset Garden restaurant. We paid $44/night in May (low season). The hotel has the feel of an aging old star, her glory days are long gone and she's starting to show her age. Staff is friendly, rooms were spacious and clean, A/C was pretty weak, had... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during our trip to Burma in April 2014. We had seen mixed reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor but decided to risk it because of the good points we had seen. The positives The hotel is very good value for Bagan, where hotels in general seem to be quite expensive. The room... More

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice and comfy the resort was. We loved the pool!! You can look out across the desert from the pool and see wandering cattle. Friendly staff. Food and beverage could be improved with choices and English level of the staff. Clean rooms, and turndown service.

We stayed at the Kumudra Hotel in April 2014, staff were very friendly and learning to speak English, unfortunately no one taught them to clean. Our room was wood on three walls ,wooden floor and a wooden plaque on the wall all dusty and dirty.Sheets and towels appeared to have been washed in muddy water. Open aspect was nice and... More

The location of this place is nice, and the design of the newer wing is appealing. BUT … I decided to pay for a suite in the new wing on the upper floor with a good view. The room looked like it had just recently been finished, or maybe not quite. In fact, the toilet did not flush, and I... More

The room and pool area could have certainly benefited from some maintenance but all things considered, this was the best value hotel we stayed in during the entire trip. Our (two) rooms were large and included a/c, private bath, television and a balcony. From the balcony on our room we looked out over the pool grounds and could see pagodas... More

The Kumudara was great, although a little expensive. I loved the location of the hotel, set far out among the temples. It was extremely peaceful, although it did make for some interesting night bike riding to get into town for dinner. We had asked for a room with a view of the temples, but got a room with a deck...
