Bagan Umbra is in a great location on the main road with several restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself is great, Avery well kept peppery. I was in Room 205 and like others have pointed out, the bathroom could use updating but the shower worked (typically Asian with no curtains) and plenty of hot water. The staff was great--very... But let's start at the beginning. The service at reception when we arrived was really great. We had some trouble with a taxi that wanted a double fare from the boat jetty..probably because we were two people(!) but that was sorted out with help from reception. The hotel location: halfway between ship jetty and old Bagan...perfect. It means that you... More

This hotel is very complete. 2 pools, buffet breakfast, nice rooms where all things are working. It's location is good as well. In just 5 minutes by bike you can be at one of the top spots for sunrise/sunset. Staff is no too friendly...

We stayed in Umbra hotel Bagan for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! The hotel is very nice and feels luxurious for the great Price we paid. It is central and within waking distance to many restaurants and travel agencies, but some way away from Old Bagan. This is no problem as you can easily hire e-bikes and regular... More

The Hotel is about halfway between Tharabar gate and the out skirt of Nyaung U. We had a room in the old part of the hotel. It was large and well equipped, the furnishings were showing signs of wear, as was the en-suite, however everything worked efficiently. The hotel grounds were well kept and the new block and pool looked... More

Pros of this hotel were affordable laundry, friendly and helpful staff, and a nice pool and courtyard, plus an excellent breakfast that is outdoors. The hotel also has a view of a temple that is lit up at night. There is an on-property restaurant but we did not get a chance to try it. Across the street you can hire... More

We stayed for two nights at Bagan Umbra Hotel. The room was basic and clean. The only issue we had was with the water's low pressure and the drainage was also rather poor (it seems to be a common problem that we came across even in Yangon). In general, it was comfortable for us as we were out for most... More

A hotel in transition. Delightful setting with stunning gardens and a cared for aspect. The new large pool looks incredible, the smaller one unkempt and tired. We were shown all grades of room and all are acceptable but the lower grades bathrooms are sorely lacking. However, the super deluxe rooms are delightful and very well furnished and give an immediate... More

We stayed in a very comfortable and nice room (Grand Delux), probably in a completely new wing of the hotel. It was clean, modern, working wifi and very at tentative and nice staff. The only drawback is that you can hear the TV in the room next door… The hotel has a beautiful new pool area and a garden with... More

This is a pretty nice place to chill out and relax. We had a large comfortable room with a good bathroom en-suite. We were first offered something rather basic but for a $20 upgrade we got a large spacious and quiet room. We spent New Years eve there, the band was OK but the crowd didn't seem to want to... More
